Shoegaze founders = A R Kane. They had the shoegaze sound down before ride, my Bloody Valentine , lush, the verve, slowdive. all the major shoegaze groups pretty much worked off what A R Kane did...a group with a black lead singer :)
A.R. Kane first album was realised in 88, but My Bloody Valentine in 85, so...
+TheMus!cNerd wrong. In '86 they A.r. Kane released "when you're sad" , the VERY FIRST shoegaze song. Go listen to it, its shoegaze as all hell. My Bloody Valentine's shoegaze sound is derivative

I'm a big fan of Candy Claws, though they're currently not making music outside of Sounds of Ceres. They got me into shoegaze/dream pop. Goldfrapp was another one. This was a nice video.

A good Blackgaze band that only had a few songs was a french band called Ameseours, check out their self-titled album - it's great

@@user-ls2jg7vl2h hmm. The only band i can think of at the moment is beach house. I couldn't recommend them more. They're a really cool duo. O i love lana del rey. Her ultraviolence album is dreampop and kinda psychedelic rock.
