I got a sample of this a while ago and it was strong, it was bold and it lasted a fair while. I bought a bottle of it just last week and... it's nothing like the sample I got. It's weak as fuck. Like diluting juice thats 99% water. The scent is there but it's so faint and it's gone in minutes. Cant say how annoyed I am about it considering the price. I see someone else has said they left it to macerate for 4 months and it became a strong performer. So, Ive stuck it in a drawer and hopefully 4 months from none it will be the amazing scent that I got before in the sample.
I couldn’t agree more with this. Byredo is a brand that I take not a lot of interest in mostly because they never push the boundaries. tobacco Mandarin is my favorite from the line and this is a beautiful fragrance that I believe is under hyped
I'm generally not a fan of the brand (I hope Manny isn't reading 😄), but if I had to choose one, this would be it. I remember getting a pretty negative comment on it when I first sampled it, but it's a good scent. The frankincense gives me Amouage vibes; and since Jerome did a few of the Atelier Colognes, there's a bit of Santal Carmin blending in there too. Not in smell, just in the way the sweet-spiciness transitions. Appreciate the impressions!
I really want to love this one. I bought it, but the cumin in it….smells sweaty on me. Sellier and Vanille Antique in the Night Veils collection. So good.
I’m not much into byredo either. I don’t remember ever liking whatever I tried from the brand, though there are many I never sampled. Their flagship Bal dafrique has a weird accord to my nose that reminds me of paint smell, so it never really clicked with me 🤷🏻♂️
@@robes08 Pulp is fun though. I did try that one as well and thought it was nice, but wow, people NOTICED it when I sampled it, lol. Decided there was limited versatility with a scent so conspicuous. Hell of a juice for sure 🔥😂
Update: I have to say that after leaving the perfume macerate for 4 months the performance it's just a different story. In the beginning I was disapointed because it did not project, but now I can say it's a very strong performer.
I’m kind of done with Byredo I like tobacco Mandarin, but the performance is weak, literally an hour after spraying it I can barely smell it thumbs down !! and they charge more than a premium for it. They’re very proud of their fragrances, and I don’t find them to be the quality as their price.
Marc, I smelled Tobacco Mandarin by Byredo recently and I love the fragrance. I agree with your 10 rating on the fragrance.

Great fragrance, one of my favorites from this brand. Another great one is Sellier, imo

I testet this today and found the opening VERY indulic/animalic tobacco.. Love the tobacco note.. Dont get any mandarin either..

Happy I don't get that with Bal D'Afrique also some get weird things from Pulp too that they can't stand. Love them both.

We all have our thoughts on different brands. I can see where you come from as I only own 2 Byredo's for good reason.

8 to 10 hours projection? It becomes a skin sent after two hours, I have to get my nose right on my arm to smell it.
