Briliant! 👌
Thanks! 😁👍
Grwat video, Jason - cheers man 🙏.
I thought the 20db boost om the high frequency was sweet - there was a nice crispness to your voice.
Thanks again, Jason 🤘🙏
Thanks Gary! Yeah the high boost was nice, especially since I didn't edit the audio at all. I'm going to keep on using it. 😜
@@JasonYadlovski if it cuts a little time off your final edit, then it's so very worth it 😁🤟
Nice review Jason. I thought the 20db boost om the high frequency made your voice sound great, nice and crispy. I just picked up sE Electronics DM2 in-line preamp. Haven't set it up yet, but it'll be paired with my Shure SM7B.
Thanks man! Agreed, the 20dB boost with the HF lift sounded good. Especially since it was unedited audio. I think I'll try that setting for the next resolve podcast. 😜 Drop me a comment and let me know how the one you picked up works out. I'm curious to know what you think of it.
@@JasonYadlovski I just completed some testing and with the DM2 booster the gain on my PreSonus Studio 68c was on 2:10 or so, without the booster the gain was all the way up and I was metering around -19 to -21, bouncing around there. I'm told -11 or -12 is best. With the DM2 my gain was at 2:10 on my audio interface and I was metereing -11 to -12. The DM2 has 8 load settings that you can play around with and use what best suits your voice. I found that the 100K impedance setting fit my voice nicely.
Aaaaah...this is for an analog mic! I have a similar problem with a USB mic (PiY Painting).
The mic levels ("recording") in Windoze are up all the way and it is still quiet. You have to practically eat the mic and talk loudly to get decent levels. Post processing **required**!
==>Is there such an awesome device for USB mics?
I've never seen such a thing for USB mics, only XLR mics. For USB, you just have to adjust the settings on the mic, if any, and the computer settings along with your recording software.
Without the high frequency, it seems "muffled" to me. I am not a sound guy (hence me watching your videos), so not sure if muffled is the correct word.
I would agree. Typically I would add a little clarity by using the EQ, but I wanted to go w/ the raw audio, just so you can see the difference the HighRise makes. But I'm totally with you. A little EQ and it cleans up nice.
They don't have a USB version?
I've never seen a booster for a USB mic, only for XLR mics. You just have to adjust the settings on the mic if any and the computer settings along with your recording software.
@@JasonYadlovski yeah done all that and still not satisfied. Maybe it's my computer 😉
What mic are you using?
