Don’t like the 1 for 1 trade with Necas and Hronek
Necas - Established top 6 elite skating forward that has proven to be able to produce in the regular season AND the playoffs
Hronek - One year of good production (not much of a sample size), and had a horrendous TWO points in THIRTEEN playoff games.

Evangelista being included in the Marner deal immediately kills the deal for Nashville. He is considered one of Nashville's untouchables. He has already established himself as part of Nashville's future core and Nashville has plenty of other young NHL ready wingers that could take that place. Tomasino is the big one that comes to mind.

A better MN Wild trade idea would be Marco Rossi, Jared Spurgeon and Carson Lambos for Martin Necas. Carolina gets Rossi with 1 year left on his ELC and then a likely 2 year bridge deal, Veteran Spurgeon for 3 years as an affordable top 4 short term stopgap with all of Carolina's UFA's on D and 1st round D Prospect Lambos as compensation for taking 3 years of Spurgeon's contract, this helps keep Carolina's cup window open with 2 starters at $7.5 million...Wild could even retain 10-15% of Spurgeon's caphit for 3 years as a kicker if needed...Wild finally gets a RH shot top 6 center/wing they would then extend for 8 years with Spurgeon's capspace, Wild has more than enough prospects to replace Rossi and Lambos with...it also helps the Wild get bigger at forward and D....

    3-Team Trade
    To VGK: Linus Ullmark
To BOS: Jacob Chychrun and SJ 2025 3rd Rd Pick (From VGK)
To OTT: Adin Hill and VGK 2025 2nd Rd pick
Ullmark's NTC and desire to play in Boston makes a trade with one of the popular destinations almost impossible. He has no reason to block any teams that already have established starters so, that's 6-8 teams directly out of the running without needing to use any block slots. He has 16 teams to block until Jul 1st when it goes down to 15. That's only going to leave 7-10 teams to make a deal with and most of them aren't going to be chomping at the bit to give up much for a slight upgrade in their goal tending.
BOS maximizes their return in a trade like this. Ullmark and Hill's contracts are basically identical next year so, VGK gets an upgrade to their goal tending for essentially a 2nd and 3rd rounder after Hill lost the starting job to Logan Thompson this year (even though he kind of won it back in the playoffs) and historically VGK has been known to not care much about picks while they're trying to win now. OTT gets an upgrade to their goal tending (even though Hill lost his job to Thompson he was still better than either of OTT's goalies) and a little sweetner in the form of the 2rd rd pick since they didn't land the big fish in Ullmark.

    McAvoy - Lindholm
    Loheri - Carlo.
So if anything on defense they need depth defensemen. They have Peeke on their third pairing so just finding a good fit for him would be enough. Wotherspoon looked decent this, year when needed, but they need a consistent guy they can rotate in the lineup if need be. So, if Ullmark is moved at all, it would be for a 1st and prospects or a true 1C and a 2nd.

As a Sabres fan, I was really turned off by this suggestion at first, but it is intriguing. Ultimately, I'd have to pass, though. Samuelsson is a top-line defenseman and the draft pick swap is too rich here for two middle-six forwards. Sure MS missed half of this past season due to injuries and the previous season wasn't much better, so he has an injury history. When he's playing, he pairs well with Dahlin. The idea isn't awful, but Buffalo has forwards in the pipeline that need spots on the big club. Laughton fills the 3C position wonderfully, though. To MIN: Nikolaj Ehlers (2M retained), 2026 2nd
    To WPG: Marco Rossi
I hate the idea of Rossi leaving, but Billy G is allegedly listening to offers on him, and according to Russo would be open to trading him for a faster, bigger forward. They'd also get another 2026 pick, which they seem to be stockpiling for rentals. Ehlers is also in the same age bracket as Kaprizov and Ekker.
Winnipeg would get a long term solution as a 2C behind Scheifele.

I could see us trading Perfetti as well he's 22(RFA) but at times has been 2nd line 4th healthy scratch playoffs. Maybe he just wants out.
Maybe we can move him plus maybe Pionk,Stanley,Zhilkin,Lucius,Iafallo(UFA),Wagner for a 2nd line Center or another young RFA like Necas,Jarvis,Mercer,Schneider+Kakko,KentJohnson. Or NHL ready prospects Savoie,Mataychuk,Jiricek,Nemec,Zellweger types.
How I'd like team to look 2024
      Connor Scheifele Villardi
      Lambert Blank Mcgroarty/Chibrikov
      Appleton Lowry Neidereitter
      Barron Namestnikov Chibrikov/Pearson
      Extra Gustafson,Kupari,Blank
      Morrissey Pulock
      Samberg Demelo
      Heinola Hamonic
      Salmonsson+ either Staal/Bortuzzo
      Goalies
Hellebuyck+ Reimer or Driedger and let Milic have Starter in AHL.
*idk if Pearson fits but he played WJCU20, Barrie with Hawerchuk/Scheifele.
*Hamonic,Pulock,Sanheim,Driedger,Riemer are from Manitoba and Staal/Bortuzzo could be depth add from ThunderBay NorthernOntario.
The 2nd line center spot is hard fit could put Nelson/Monahan but it will need to be someone short term 1-3yrs and preferably could drive own line with Lambert/Chibrikov/Mcgroarty and Barlow later.
And imo Lindholm,Teravainen,Henrique,Monahan,Guentzel are 2nd liners but need top 6 guys to perform.
A 1B center to Scheifele like a Horvat,Barzal,Reinhart,Pettersson,Kadri,Stamkos,Tavares ect wouldn't want to come to a place like wpg. Which is why RFA years matter for us or getting guys from western canada who won't want 0% tax Florida/Nashville/Texas,Nice weather,or take pride playing here.

I doubt Chevy would move prospects. He doesn't. I like the trade of Elhers and Stanley for Pulock and Two Seconds. Nelson, on the other hand, as a replacement for the seconds, I don't think that would fly on the Islanders' side of things when they're still trying to be a playoff team. It is more likely that the Jets will resign Monahan. And keep Perfetti.
I expect their lines to look similar to yours,
      Lines:
      Connor Scheifele Villardi
      Perfetti Monahan Neidereitter
      Appleton Lowry Barron
      Iafallo Namestnikov Gustafsson
-With Kupari as the 13th forward
-I don't think anything with the top four as you have it laid out would change
      Morrissey Pulock
      Samberg Demelo
-But the third pair leaves questions, in my opinion
do you play Heinola and Pionk or Schmidt, or do you buy the two out as I doubt anyone would willingly take them off the Jet's hands for free.
And for the Jets prospects, all except Mcgroarty will likely play with the moose next year.

    To BOS: Nick Schmaltz
To UTAH: Charlie Coyle and rights to Matt Grezlyck (Must be a pre Jul 1 trade) or a fringe NHL player (Patrick Brown, Jakub Lauko, Marc McLaughlin) if post Jul 1
Nick Schmaltz is a perennial 60-point player, (On a shit team) who can play both center and wing and BOS desperately needs more scoring depth.
The reason Utah might want to move him is because his contract is more heavily weighted in these last 2 years. Which means his cap hit is only $5.85M but, he's making over $8.4M in actual salary for the next 2 seasons and I'm sure the Smith's wouldn't mind dropping his contract for a cheaper one since they just dropped more than a billion on the team.
Enter Charlie Coyle's contract. Same term left, and a slightly cheaper cap hit of only 5.25 but, since Coyle's contract was front-heavy instead of back-heavy he's only making $4.5M in actual salary the last 2 years of his contract.
Coyle is a couple of years older and his career best is 60 points, only hit once this past year so, the Bruins might have to add a little sweetner but, not too much. Either the rights to a guy like Grezlyck. (Or Debrusk if they don't plan on signing him) That will allow UT time to make a pitch to the player to re-sign there instead of hitting the open market. Or a fringe NHL guy who is struggling to make the roster in BOS but, would fit in UT's roster. (Patrick Brown, Jakub Lauko, Marc McLaughlin)

The returns people seem to think Necas is worth are mind blowing. This is a winger who's not under contract. Who in 5 full seasons has 2 years over 50 points 1 year over 60, and it wasn't this year. This year he took a huge step back from last year. Which should be a red flag. Why do people think this kid is worth a package of more than a 1st? Absurd. If he was a center who wins more than 50% of his draws maybe. If he was a first year player who had this seasons production? Sure. He's not either of those things. Not at the NHL level anyway. He's listed as a center but he's terrible at draws. It's not like Carolina is deep at center beyond Aho he couldn't win being a center for them he's going to struggle winning being a center anyway. I don't get why his return warrants anything close to these predictions. Giving up a huge amount for a kid who declined who you still have to negotiate a contract with seems exceptionally stupid.

    • @CarolinaBuckrush
      @CarolinaBuckrush 4 месяца назад

Necas has a lot more promise since he doesn’t fit the Canes system and would do well for another team and he is more of a winger. His price is also so high because of his speed. Actually stuff like the first trade proposal is a low ball and people have been low balling the Canes like proposing the Canes trade Necas for Hronek who is just going to make things worse for the Canes.

    • @exturkconner

Who's leaving under dramatic terms forcing a trade because he wants to be in a more impactful position. Who isn't under contract isn't worth a lot. Hronek on the other hand makes perfect sense as it's the exact same situation. The Canes are going to lose a bunch of dmen over the next two seasons. Hronek is over valuing himself and forcing a trade just like Necas is. Of course the issue is that if they were willing to pay Hronek 8m per they could probably just keep Skjei instead. But yeah that's not a bad trade offer regardless.

    • @CarolinaBuckrush
      @CarolinaBuckrush 4 месяца назад

It only further worsens the problem for the Canes. The Canes can resign more of their Dmen and have elite prospects about to come and fill the fills. Hronek is also way too expensive for the Canes.
Necas is fast and every team knows that he can do much better in a system he actually fits in. He also plays the wing. Necas has a whole lot more promise and is a RFA thus he can get a very high price just because he is playing without PP time and in a system he doesn’t fit but it still getting 50-60 points a season.

They've said they couldn't come to terms with Pesce so he's out. And it looks like Brady Skjei is out too. Can't see them bringing DeAngelo back. Chatfield is also up. Then next year they are going to have to try and sign Slavin as well as having Burns, and Orlov up. I don't think they'd be looking to keep either but if you don't keep them you need to replace them. Next year Slavin will likely take a team friendly cap deal and Orlov will be the harder sign but impossible if they get Hronek. If they trade for Hronek he will only make resigning other players much harder. Next year Buens should go and the Canes got some top prospects ready to make the team when Burns is gone. DeAngelo is likely gone but the Canes have replacements. If the Canes are going to resign most players then Hronek would only hurt the Canes. Hronek wants 8 mil and that would only hurt the Canes in terms of resigning other players. He won’t help the defensive situation he would only make it harder to resign other players like Orlov on defense. The Canes will want an elite scorer for Necas anyways.
You’re completely forgetting that Hronek also priced himself out of Carolina and would make everything worse. Your whole comment also explained why Hronek wouldn’t work in Carolina. There are resigning that need to be made. Yeah the Canes have to resign this year and the next and Hronek would prevent some resigning deals. Your reasoning why Carolina should try to get him actually explains why they shouldn’t try and get him. He would only eat up cap and prevent them from resigning other players.
Necas is fine player winger is bigger problem is that he is not being utilized as much as he would like, he doesn’t fit the system, and he doesn’t get PP time.
