Calvin Newton was still singing at 81. Ben Speer was still at it at 80. Ray Dean Reese is 83. He’s not quite what he was in his prime, but dog gonnit’ if I’m still able to carry a tune at his age I’ll still be singing too!!
I went to check if Big Jim Waits might have lasted longer. Nope. 75. JD? No way! 73 😢 Big Chief? 50 ☹️. But like the _mighty Mississippi_ Bro. Ray Dean (May 16, 1939, 83y) just keeps rolling along.
@@WillBravoNotEvilmes "Big Chief" Weatherington wasn't very old, when he passed away from a Fatal Heart Attack in, I believe, 1973, at the age of only 50 years old, and that happened to him at a Singing Convention of some sort. J. D. Sumner? He died the same way, at the age of 73, just 3 days before his 74th Birthday.
It is amazing that he is still singing. He has been with the group for about 53 years. The group started in 1956 and Ray has been there 1967-1968 and then 1971 - Present.
No, Reese McKinney was the first bass singer when The Kingsmen was founded in 1957, followed by Calvin Runion. Ray Dean Reese didn’t join the quartet until 1967
@@conradtdelaneyf you ever had a copy of the Album "Kingsmen Silver", I believe that it's stated that The Kingsmen Quartet were actually known as The Silver tones. Eldridge Fox joined in the latter part of the 1950s, and eventually, the group was renamed The Kingsmen Quartet. However, if you go to Wapedia, and search, you find a completely different story, as it relates to the group name. It never even mentions the name "The Silver tones". Eldridge Fox did join in 1957, and left in 1958. However, he apparently re-joined the group sometime in 1959. It makes you wonder who's telling the truth, when you have two different accounts being portrayed to the General Public about something of this nature. Another thing that has bothered me:The high turnover rate of the members of groups like these. You find that going on in a lot of different groups, Southern Gospel Groups included. Makes me wonder what's going on behind the scenes.
I remember one time, when Ray Dean Reese was on-stage with Dr. Jerry Goss. Poor Ol' Ray couldn't hardly get a word in, edgewise, without this guy interrupting him, time and again! Tell ya what:If I'd of been Ray, I'd of walked offstage, after being treated like that! It's totally rude to talk over top of someone like that!

Not your call. Being a "big fan" or "attending" or buying merch changes nothing. Your "right to opinion" doesn't make your opinion right. (I should ™️ that! 😊) Your *adolescent* defense of _an opinion_ is, I admit, mildly amusing...much like a yappy Pomeranian puppy.
This was my favorite Quartet. All 4 guys together ❤❤❤❤🙏
Love that beautiful Song what a blessing
We need more of this! It's what keeps me focused on what matters! Jesus!
Love you Ray. U got it.
oh yes agree 100%!!!!!!!
Doesn’t get any better
I agree

He is an Absolute Legend and in my opinion he can sing as long as he feels the Lord leading him to do it.

I do believe Ray is an original member of the KINGSMAN? If it is who I think..it's amazing he is still singing with KINGSMAN!

I recognize him spot on ...God Bless and may he see 100 years!

I have seen people on their deathbed singing this and then leaving.
Great Song!!!

Ray needs to retire....I'm a big fan but it's time.
Look at a couple of my newer videos. He has a young man he is training now.
He can sing as long as he wants to. I think he will know when it’s time to retire. Keep your comments to your self
