Absolutely. I was born in Mexico. Back then , Mexican musicians typically used to wear uniforms (all the musicians on the same band typically wore the same outfits for the performance ) out of respect for the audience. American rockers on the other hand liked to sing almost butt naked and wearing makeup in the 80s and 90s … to me that is a massive cultural difference but a lot of Americans seemed to like it back then so I don’t know. I think people should be more respectful both in public service as well as entertainment but that’s a thing of the past …just look at Cardi B ..at this pace pretty soon we are going to have strippers and rappers in congress 🤷

I believe he has depression issues which I can understand not having the energy to dress right but if it's that bad then you shouldn't be working in such a high position while also not getting help. I have issues myself but I don't get pissed when someone thinks I should be clean and dressed for work or when I'm in public. Standards are a thing for a reason.

Ultimately, the way we dress when we're at work isn't because it's comfortable (although, it isn't particularly uncomfortable either). We dress up as a sign of respect and to show that we've arrived ready to perform and take the job seriously. Although, when it comes to politicians, taking the job seriously and doing their duties to at least a par standard seems to always be optional...but the sentiment still stands.
Kids do not understand this. Few go to mass anymore, or attend Private Schools where dress is important.

Dress codes can be problematic. As our society becomes more “lax”, why do people have to dress up? By having a dress code, it may set a small standard for our elected politicians. Some say it’s only clothing, who cares. I can see their point. If our elected politicians can’t set themselves to be leaders (at least their image), then maybe we should adjust their salaries and perks accordingly. My guess, that in a few years from now, the dress code will be gone, but also lost will some class! Eventually, with all these “woke” changes, especially for people’s feelings, the American empire will collapse, as all other empires before have.
Why do people have to become more lax? Perhaps it is a barometer, the lower the level of self-respect and respect for others the more poorly people present themselves and behave towards their their fellows.

With presidential impeachment and a government shutdown looming, why is the senate wasting its time on a dress code? They didn't seem to have any problems voting "aye" on that piece of legislation.
It's all theater. All the big spending is bipartisan. The fix is in and they will vote how they're told. Nobody gets held accountable and no one goes to jail.
