  • Manor Racing Team were the most successful of the 2010 new teams but sadly they British team folded before the 2017 season. Many have debated how Manor would have fared in future seasons so in this video we look at what could have been had Manor made it to the 2017 Formula season.
This is a much older video of mine that I was working on before I even uploaded my first video so it might be a bit rough around the edges especially with some points I make in the video so feel free to ask questions in the comment section.

Honestly it's been years that Manor has dissappeard, and i have still have this feeling that Manor had could have done more than the 2016 saison. I still miss Manor and i wish they would return in the future

Honestly I found your HRT's possible survival review more realistic/better, but I feel confused to explain you why exactly.
So instead I'll list three important things to you(the second and third ones are two questions):
1 - As you said, Haryanto wouldn't return to F1 for sure in 2017 because his main sponsor stopped backing up with him. I'd say the same to Nasr and Maldonado, as they both didn't return to F1 in real life due to the same problem(specially for the brazilians, if you see this year the president of Brazil requested to remove Petrobrás name on the McLaren car).
2 - Are you really sure Manor would continue with a Mercedes engine? I didn't find any website that said they had done a multi-year contract with them. But yeah I agree staying with Mercedes would have been the best option.
3 - You didn't say it on the video, but I suppose the only way Manor couldn't have gone into administration was they finished last in the Constructors Championship. So do you agree if it didn't happen and Sauber instead finished last, Sauber would have quitted F1? Then in my opinion Manor's lineup for 2017 could have Ericsson/Gutiérrez/Wehrlein, 2 of these 3 and Jordan King remaining for testing.
    Thanks for the reading.

Thank you for watching and commenting once again HoracioRUclips.
      1. I accidently have let my fan bias get in the way here. Like you say, Haryanto and Nasr both had sponsorship issues. In reality it could have been either driver at Manor. All I will say is that Nasr was rated more highly during 2016 and it was announced by Haryanto’s Mom that he would not be racing in F1 in 2017 (I didn’t include the Hartyanto’s Mom stuff in the video because I am not sure if it was said as a reaction to Haryanto not getting an F1 seat or not).

      2. While there is no guarantee that Manor would have stuck with Mercedes engines, it would have made sense for Manor to stick with Mercedes because of the speculation that they would become a Mercedes B-team. If Manor was still around in 2020, I could see Renault pushing to make Manor their own junior team so they can put their young drivers in Formula 1 like Guanyu Zhou, Christian Lundgaard and Oscar Piastri.
      3. I think Sauber would have been more likely to survive finishing 11th than Manor in 2016 because they were already cutting costs to save money e.g. they decided to continue using the 2016 Ferrari engines in 2017 to save money. Also Sauber was purchased by Longbow finance S.A. (Marcus Ericcson’s sponsor) in 2016 which gave them more money investment. If Sauber did quit, then I do agree with you that Manor’s driver line-up would have been a combination of Ericcson, Gutierrez and Wehrlein
Sorry if the video was confusing. This was an older essay/script I wrote back in 2018 with some modifications and in Hindsight I should have started again with a brand new script.

      @@AlternateApex3838 It's a pleasure.
I'm going only to make a reply to the 2nd item: Yep, I can see Renault being their next engine supplier. Even before 2020, with Williams decline is there any sense Mercedes having two major B-teams? This would be weird to me.
(oh and I also corrected my misspelling on Felipe's surname)

sauber would still have had the money to compete, so we wouldve still seen 11 teams on the grid for at least one more year
