i like hearing how the album sounds throughout different changes and the early drafts but i don't want this to become a normal thing, it's interesting and fun every once in a while.
I love listening to the evolution. I know Jon didn't listen to the Donda 1 listening parties as it happened, but the best part was hearing the songs get more and more polished. Hearing the Jail drum outro on LP2, or when Cudi was added to Moon and Remote Control, or when completely new songs like Jesus Lord or Come to Life were played. Kanye was able to bring us on a journey to the final product. Compare this also to the documentary, jeen-yuhs. It's crazy to hear Ye play early versions of All Falls Down to disinterested execs, or Jesus Walks to Ghostface Killer, or Through the Wire to Pharrell. I love the reaction Pharrell has, calling Kanye one of his favorite artists. And Pharrell wasn't even listening to the final product yet. Strap in for the ride, Denton. I'm sure Kanye won't lead us astray.
I like listening to the raw unfinished versions! It’s like your experiencing the process of making the album yourself. Also, in a sense, you’re going inside of their minds through the creative process.
All he really needs to add on get lost is like a heartbeat drum and a really low synth bass that matches his chord progression to fill in the gap and it’s a masterpiece

Get Lost is extremely similar to the song 715 -CREEKS by Bon Iver, who Ye has obviously worked with many times. That song doesn't have drums or bass either, and personally I find both tracks incredibly rich

for early access this sounds pretty good but I do hope that when the album is finally finished he’ll actually release it on streaming. I can see the potential of all the songs now as for Pablo I already live the song, but Travis has basically nothing on the song so i’m hoping the finished song has a Travis verse on it also I’m guessing that a lot of these songs will get additional features added on. Yes. Good spot. I have a very nice camera and lens but it’s too wide to use with the green screen. So I could use it and do all my reactions in my weird room, but I think it’s better to have the slightly lower quality camera but the higher production value for new viewers (OGs won’t care either way). Incidentally, I shoot the shorts in high quality 4K, but the files would be too big for longer vids. Thanks for coming to my Ted talk.
I saw it online somewhere that someone in Ye's camp said its a Trilogy of Donda albums but don't be surprised if there's a 4th as well. Apparently hes trying to drop albums the way Apple drops phone updates; like 3-4 a year
Jon - Security is about Kanye being stopped by Kims security when north wanted to invite him inside to show him something in her room. He wasn’t allowed in. Hence the bars about getting between him and his kids and that if they really want to press check him - he will behave in a way that their security will need security - eventually quitting bc they don’t get paid enough to deal with ye. So don’t come between a man and his kids and everything will be all good!
I think the ultimate plan is that the Stem Player is there for the evolving process where in the end we have it polished and an eventual release on streaming. Those with Stem Players will still get exclusive access to other things like Bonus Tracks or different features on tracks we already have.
The only issues for me with hearing these rough cuts and watching the album evolve is 1. It’s a little exhausting because he already did a similar thing on Donda 1 and it keeps you guessing and wondering whether he’s going to update any further. Let’s face it, Donda 1 is phenomenal but I think it could’ve been better. He just never got around to fixing certain issues. So that aspect can leave you a little blue-balled. and 2. When you hear songs this early it kind of ruins the listenability for when the album is finally done. I’ve already listened to Pablo and We Did It Kid like 50x each and I love them, but I’m worried about when the finished song finally comes out, if I’ll be tired of it. It’s kind of like when Uzi dropped Myron, but I had already heard the leak too many times to properly enjoy the actual release
I want a shockingly beautiful and transformative experience from an album. Where you listen for the first time and are genuinely amazed at the artistry and story telling. You can't get that from unfinished and rough sounding tracks that have been chopped together. Plus once the genie is out of the bottle you can't put it back, so it is almost irrelevant that the tracks will become more polished over time.

Hence the bars about getting between him and his kids and that if they really want to press check him - he will behave in a way that their security will need security - eventually quitting bc they don’t get paid enough to deal with ye. Yeah I think the album was meant for the stem player so you can play with it.
I think the ultimate plan is that the Stem Player is there for the evolving process where in the end we have it polished and an eventual release on streaming. Those with Stem Players will still get exclusive access to other things like Bonus Tracks or different features on tracks we already have.

The only issues for me with hearing these rough cuts and watching the album evolve is
1. It’s a little exhausting because he already did a similar thing on Donda 1 and it keeps you guessing and wondering whether he’s going to update any further. Let’s face it, Donda 1 is phenomenal but I think it could’ve been better. He just never got around to fixing certain issues. So that aspect can leave you a little blue-balled.
and 2. When you hear songs this early it kind of ruins the listenability for when the album is finally done. I’ve already listened to Pablo and We Did It Kid like 50x each and I love them, but I’m worried about when the finished song finally comes out, if I’ll be tired of it. It’s kind of like when Uzi dropped Myron, but I had already heard the leak too many times to properly enjoy the actual release

I want a shockingly beautiful and transformative experience from an album. Where you listen for the first time and are genuinely amazed at the artistry and story telling. You can't get that from unfinished and rough sounding tracks that have been chopped together. Plus once the genie is out of the bottle you can't put it back, so it is almost irrelevant that the tracks will become more polished over time.
