The interesting part is that there's a lot of symbolism in the video. There's whole essays about what's actually going on. The 'dada' part comes from the art movement Dadaism. T O.P. is also dressed up as artist Salvador Dali. The video references a couple of his paintings. There's also very obvious references to the movie 2001: A Space Odyssey. T.O.P. himself comes from a very artistic family. His great-grandfather was a famous artist (a couple of years ago one of his paintings sold for 13 million US) and T.O.P. himself is big into art and design. He collects chairs. The chairs in the video are actually from his collection lol.

I'm GLAD someone dropped this comment here! As someone with art and design background, I was SO TRIGGERED the first time I watched this MV! All those scenes, all those paintings, all those designer furniture pieces, all those references.....damn this MV is a masterpiece!
The deer painting shown behind T.O.P is by artist Kim Whanki, his great-uncle. Kim Whanki died in 1974 in NYC. If you look up his photograph you'll see a definite resemblance.

What? No. There are rappers/rap line in many Kpop groups like g.o.d and Shinhwa before Bigbang. Also They made their own song too. Even Seotaeji who is the legend of Kpop in 90s made songs by himself.

Bigbang made the flow rap and deep voice rap in the same group possible, which is why if u check many groups, they started going for the same type of thing ~ also bigbang was the first kpop group to have a light stick designed as a crown or flower ♡

Bigbang it's always worth it,, u can tell that TOP's rap flow n style is different, he doesn't copy others flow n always write down the lyrics by himself so as GD. I think he just want to express himself n doesn't want to show of, his lyrics are always say about art, i love his tone n his deep voice is blend very well with the bass. 💛

The MV was heavily inspired by Dada/Dadaism and Salvatore Dali (Salvatore Dali wears his mustache upside down which TOP also does in the MV). This MV is basically a mix of contemporary art and Old fashioned art.
Dada was a movement of the European avant-garde in eary 20th century. It was a development in reaction to WWI. Dada consisted of artists who rejected the logic, reason and aestheticism of modern capitaism society. Instead expressing nonsense, irrationality and anti-bourgoise protest in their works was first. In short, Dadaism was a PROVOCATION against the capitaistic society after WWI.
While Salvador Dalí was not part of the Dada movement, their ideas shaped his work. Like the Dadaists, Dalí's work seeks to PROVOCATE (like TOP's MV):
1. The baby:
Dali did a painting called "Baby Map of the World". It is a giant baby’s head with countries and axis through it. The painting symbolises that children are the future of the world. Top is basically alluding that the youth is the future of rap.
2. The atomic explosion: Dali created many works of art surrounding this subject expressing his horror on these bombs. One of them was the Three Sphinxes of Bikini.
3. Zebra: The Zebra Cavalier by Salvatore Dali
Also, when TOP mentions “I’m the rap Basquiat”, this is in reference to Jean-Michel Basquiat. One of his paintings, a black skull with red and yellow sold for around $110M making it one of the most expensive paintings ever sold.
When the Whanki Foundation copyright appears, is a painting of Kim Whanki, Korea's pioneering abstract art artist. TOP is his great nephew.
