- Welcome to Noise Vortex and the first episode of Looking Back! Looking Back is a format intended to celebrate the anniversaries of classic albums or to simply shine a light on underrated or overlooked releases.
For the first episode of Looking Back on the channel, we celebrate ten years of Paracletus by french black metal revolutionaries Deathspell Omega. As the last album in the band's trilogy, Paracletus sees the band outdo themselves as they dial back the comlexity of their music in favor of clarity. While still extremely challenging and ambitious, Deathspell Omega give their tracks more breathing room, atmosphere and more prominent melodies. Ten years later, Paracletus has lost none of its impact and stands tall as a modern classic of the genre.

That's awesome dude. LOVE this album so much. Absolute classic and Mikko's vocals are next level, I think of it more like voice acting rather than just vocals. He plays many characters. He's the Kate Bush of extreme metal.
Great video
Thank you for the video. I listened to Paracletus for the 1st time in Aug 2021. I need to know which album to listen to next.
Drought or Chaining the Katechon
I'd really like to hear your talk on the new album when possible :)
Might be a bit late, not sure if you've already noticed, but I have a video for Furnaces up now

Mikko aspa belongs to the second circle of dso,the dso inner circle is hasjarl (hirilorn) and ??
There are some educated guesses out there. The most complete one I've seen so far was by someone from the Deathspell Omega subreddit

@@noisevortex in the bardomethodology interview you can read mikko aspa is second circle member and hasjarl don´t like miko´s political ideology´s
@@tripeldaytona4243 Yes! I wish more people would read that interview as I feel it clears up a lot of misconceptions about the band.
They have referred explicitly to the inner circle as "the core power trio" so they are surely 3 guys. The reddit post embedded above has some serious arguments regarding who those 3 are, and it feels completely unreal to me that 2 of them might actually be siblings. Talent runs abundant in that family I guess...
miko aspa isnt the one doing the screeching vocals
Well still waiting for new videos :/
You made a good analyze
dodecahedron is also sick
Ex-Dodecahedron members recently debuted with a new project under the name Autarkh. Check 'em out autarkh.bandcamp.com/album/form-in-motion
@@noisevortex some bangers on here for sure, thanks!
@@boodman209 Glad you like it!
Guys from Dodeca also have a project with guys from Textures called 'Ulsect'.
@@rutwickgangurde3247 Also Great band i Hope a follow!!!
Well, the video is nice - but i am a bit worried 'cause no one on youtube didn't creat a video about the Paracletus lyrics. I've seen the text of "Wings of Predation" and that's actually hard to really understand it for people who for example didn't read Bible and stuff. I'm sure people who wrote these lyrics is fucking genius, and i think human who can literally understang those texts can feel this atmosphere of satanism, melancholy and of corse the feeling of death, pain, pus and sheol pressure. What do you think? Random anonym user? And I any way continue to hope someone will make a video about that shit.
HELLO? IS THIS ANTONIO FANTASIO? HELLO?
