As of Jonathan Hickman's House of X era of stories, Charles has been walking for years now (It's not the first time, the 80's era with The New Mutants had him walking). He wears a body suit, and a portable Cerebro that houses the copy of every mutants mind of Krakoa, so they can be resurrected. Thanks for making a video that spotlights a disabled hero! Charles Xavier is one of my favorite Marvel characters. There are too few heroic characters with disabilities in fiction. So seeing someone that is disabled and representative of folks like me while being a total badass that uses their abilities to help others is fantastic. And he's played by Patrick Stewart so that's always a bonus.
Just imagine the sort of evil crap even a low level telepath could do. Don't even have to be close to Xavier's level and you could destroy someone's life.
My favorite use of Prof X was his ability to give languages to people. It isn’t mentioned much that I remember but after the comic book storyline of Ilyana’s time in limbo she wakes up one morning able to speak perfect American English. Which is very helpful when transitioning from classic X-men to the more international group with members from Germany, Japan, Africa, the USSR, UK, Canada and the US. And again with the new mutants with Brazil, Scotland, Vietnam and US.
If someone like Juggernaut came in I'd make it look like, to the fellow X-men, I just said oh shit and jumped out of the wheelchair and sprinted away out the nearest exit. Then make it look like my wheelchair is rapidly trying to get to me and follows.
Bear in mind, in X3, Logan is in his peak when walking through the Phoenix Force. In Logan, he's constantly losing of has very dimished healing abilities.

Speaking about guys slowing down perception of time, my favorite moment in the Bleach anime is when Mayuri fought the Espada and as a finishing move, slowed the dude's perception down to like a second per decade and then stabbed him in the heart. That whole fight was pretty baller but that moment made me actually like Mayuri. Until I didn't again bc he's a bit of a prick.
I thought of that immediately as well. But I believe to remember that it was hundreds or thousands of years per second. Either way that is utterly terrifying to think about.
9:53 they have actually done something similar to this already in The Wolverine (2013) after credits scene, where Xavier and Magneto come to pick Logan up at the airport
I think the biggest flex would be for charles to influence magneto to always believe that he has his helmet on. He could just mess with him whenever he starts acting up.
That's cool too. I was thinking more that he believes 100% that it's already on and gets increasingly belligerent with anyone who insists that it isn't.
You did miss that Cain Marko is his adopted brother, and moved in with Charles as a child, they never got along, even though they both went to Vietnam for the war, which is where Cain found the crystal that turned him into the Juggernaut.
5:10: Cerebro became self aware and started fighting people. I'm currently imagining a floating helmet flying around the X-Mansion just smacking Cyclops across the face at terminal velocity.
I always wondered if Professor X was actually a genius or if he just always made sure that he was within psychic range of a pool of geniuses that he could exploit when needed.
In the Ultimate Universe (before it turned to crap, thanks Loeb), Jean and Xavier had to do an emergency operation on Beast who got badly wounded on a mission. When, I think it was Storm, commented on the fact that she didn't know Jean and Xavier were surgeons Cyclops answered with "They aren't. But they're as good as all surgeons within their psychic range combined".

Mind blast has been described as projecting pain into the minds of others. In some cases, you take a experience where you experienced physical pain, like breaking your arm or getting hit in the face and projecting that pain to someone else and amplifying it. In others, you turn up the volume on your telepathy to overwhelm their ability to process, basically yelling inside their heads.
You did see it in a movie. When he spoke with the president he froze everyone else in the room. He even waited a few seconds before making his presence known to freak the president out a little.
I was hoping to hear about how Charles Xavier and Magneto's personalities (and their way of dealing with the hatred of mutants) was based on Martin Luther King Jr. and Malcolm X (respectively) and the civil rights movement in the US (and how they dealt with the hatred of people of colour). Maybe you'll make a video about that in the future! Great Channel, I love all your videos!
What if Xavier just wants us to think that he got his cash from his family. What if he just made a bunch of bankers wire him billions, erased the public’s memories and acted like the whole thing never happened.
It's telepathy, so....yeah. An early issue of Astonishing X-Men(I think) had Jean Grey telekinetically take down a group of men by rushing the contents inside their digestive system in a violent rush right to their "exits" and then reversing the process, and she didn't even get to the mind reading part.
It’s funny because in the Planet X novel that was referenced in the previous video, Storm noted that Deanna Troi’s empathic ability is more powerful (or more specifically, has greater range) than Xavier’s telepathic ability.
if you guys have never read Exiles (sliders meets x-men pretty much) one of the first missions, is in an alternate world where Charles Xavier is the Magneto, The team had no idea, and noticed Charles was being held captive in a maximum security prison for mutants. He ends up traveling to time square, where he proceeds to give the entire island of Manhattan a Brain hemorrhage and killed everyone on the island in less than 5 seconds. It was one of the craziest things I have ever seen that character do. Blew my mind.
In the comics Charles Xavier did grow up in a mansion, but he was also raised by a stepfather who physically abused his mother and exploited Charles' psychic gifts to enrich himself. So, Charles has definitely grown up seeing some the worse parts of humankind. Not to mention as a powerful telepath he's constantly being exposed to people's darker thoughts and true feelings.
