    Arianna Huffington is such a beautiful soul. I so enjoy listening to her talk with Bill. She is always steering the conversation in an insightful and beneficial direction. She is obviously a very wise, intelligent, and capable person. Thank you Bill for inviting her to Club Random. One more thing...She is so beautiful. I think she said she's 72. Wow!

    Such a beautiful friendship and such a great lady. I've only had one interaction with Arianna and that was when a friend gave me her personal email address and I wrote her to request writing privileges at the Huff.
    This was when it was meaningful to be a writer and prior to the so called "contributor" status. She answered by email in a hour and requested more information about my political views. At 3 a.m., she was at her desk working and wrote me to say she had approved me as a writer.
    She is one of the hardest working people I have encountered in all my years in media. I respect her greatly. I know this story does not have much value to most of you but it has a lot of value to me. Thank you Arianna !!!

Please note - Republicans for her was about entrepreneurship and the right for self determination... wherever they are now currently, it's in the religious space (hint: it's to the Christian right). The more I watch Club Random, the more I learn about Bill's core issues--especially around relationships and women. He's terrified of the petering out of sex within relationships, so he avoids them...I'm no psychiatrist, but when you hear him describe the kind of incel he was at Cornell, it all makes sense. Women didn't want him...he didn't know how to attract them...and when he became successful and started to get laid, I think he became terrified of not getting laid. He's kind of a big frat boy who won't grow up.

    • @srbaruchi
      @srbaruchi 11 месяцев назад +2

      That might be an aspect of his personality. Because of his wit, humor, and ambition, Bill probably has been more successful with women than he acknowledges, even during his college years. Bill is obviously very comfortable being single (not true for most people), but it is much easier to avoid marriage when 1) you don't desire children and 2) there's no shortage of smart, attractive women interested in being with you.

    • @beamanact
      @beamanact 11 месяцев назад

      Good points.. to me he has a bit of a Peter Pan complex and he clearly cultivates an active sex life (GO BILL at 68!) but like many men--especially those of us who are getting up there in age---committed relationships over a long term mean the sex will become routine or non-existent and he'd rather have access to sex@@srbaruchi

    Then, of course, 4 of my 5 siblings had kids, and their kids had kids. Now it'd kids, grand kids, TV, more grand kids.

    I remember that furniture it was High design back then,...yeah the 1980s, rocked. A style that was breaking norms, one variety was called "Memphis",....a randomly used name, that had nothing to do with Memphis, the city. European designers appropriated the name. Memphis styled furniture, was inspired by "ART",....and it was meant to be fun, and poke fun at serious furniture design. There are Art Deco references, in some pieces, at least in their "lines", but the colorful pallet was referential to 1960s Pop Art, using bright primary colors.

I even created some one-of-a kind tables, with minimal surfaces, that had lighting built into them. They were whimsical. Some were conceptual, like chair you couldn't sit on, but it could be used as shelving. I liked blurring the lines between art & furniture. I participated in exhibitions with others, who were working toward the same ends.

    C'mon Bill, you know better than to put your feet up on the arm of your guest's chair?? Really? Arianna Huffington is one of the most sophisticated and loveliest people ever. She's a lady. I realize she's an old friend, but honestly choose class over comfort now and then. She's on a different level, and should be treated with more respect. Not just a "buddy". The soles of his shoes are facing her, and she had to reach for her tea around his shoes in her FACE! He had no sense or thought for her comfort! God, what a lazy and selfish guy.

      I’m glad I’m not the only one that noticed that. How rude. I guess he may have been trying to prove how Buddy Buddy he is with her to let everyone know his close friends are super rich. He was sure to mention her wealth several times.

      @@amyd8029 One of his patterns it seems, he will have a certain piece of information or opinion he wants to bring out. When the guest fails to resonate and respond (Arianna obviously was giving his rich comment zero energy) he will circle back 2-3 times during the talk, in attempt to have them acknowledge or response......sometimes he gets pretty "pressy" about it also. Let it go Bill, it's okay!

      In almost every single episode he says that he doesn't drink or smoke on a day to day, or even week to week bias. He does on the podcast, socially, and other rare occasions. Also, from what I've heard him say in the past as well, he sounds like he lives a decently healthy life, actually quite shockingly healthy. No ones perfect, everyone has their faults, although I will say pot and alcohol (in moderation), are DEFINITELY not some of the worst faults to have.

    I would say, though, if you can cook, you can really wow women (I mean, if they like you already, lol). I worked in restaurants and also cooked a lot in my early 20s (with a base of knowledge from my mother growing up, and she gave me a Betty Crocker cookbook when I went to college, lo, and I moved onto more sophisticated stuff later), so I am not a bad cook... not a culinary school graduate, but I can make a few dishes that wow people and bake different breads.
    Had a few girlfriends (and one in particular) who were absolutely smitten with my abilities, and I wasn't doing it to impress them. I was just cooking and baking like I would for myself in everyday life, but they'd come home and go, "Oh, it smells so good." It's a great skill for a young guy to have.
