90% of what Bill has said over 20 years is bashing the right very insultingly, that doesnt piss you off? and havent you realized thru what he says that the GOP literally does not run on policy anymore, but almost totally runs on culture wars, fear, hate and lies?
@@roberti8116 It doesn’t and I agree with him on some of the bashing. He bashes the left as well. Although I will agree, he bashes the right more. GWTW was a BIG deal for Boomers because it was re-released nationally in the 1960s . . . playing in the best cinemas in the country . . . with bid ad campaign. "You had to be there . . . " to appreciate it.
Bill talks about how Heffner would screen Casablanca once a year at the Playboy Mansion. I think Heff is one of Bill's heroes, and he probably screens GWTW at his mansion once a year, as a kind of tribute to Heff and Heff's lifestyle.
Hi Bill, been a huge fan of yours since 'Politically Incorrect.' Since the name of your new podcast is "Club Random," would you ever consider inviting one or two of your fans to be a guest to just rap about random stuff? Over the years I've always admired the intellectual and articulate conversations you've had and thinking how cool it would be to have a conversation with you. You've created the perfect setting for this to become a reality! Even if for just 30 minutes to rap with a few people who've supported you through the years would be an extremely random thing for Bill Maher to do! Just wanted to throw that out there in the universe. Peace, love and joy.
I met Dr. Drew while he was doing man on the street interviews in Hollywood summer of 2006. His professional crew prescreened you and thier question was "Would you ever consider taking a colonoscopy?" I decided to participate and I have to say our conversation really got me thinking. I told him I probably wouldn't need one because I was healthy. He asked what I thought made me healthy. I said that my parents gave us mineral supplements growing up. He asked, "What do those mineral do for your body?". I said, "Make me healthy!?". He then bowed out of the interview. The film crew then asked if I could get one more shot of me scratching my chin like, "hmm?". I left the conversation feeling like I had met an authentic man with a mission that challenged my aimlessness that night. Thanks for volunteering, Dr. Drew!

Dr. Drew really is coming up in May. Also as a younger guy who's been watching Maher for years I feel like he should know his audience isn't all old heads
@Clint Smith plus, Carolla talked about it with Bill on his podcast a couple weeks ago and is probably going to air next week or the week after. And as the saying goes where you see Drew, you will always see Carolla and vice versa.
Drew is very personable. I remember hearing him on the radio with Adam during my first year in College in San Diego in 95-96. Great days. I like hearing what he has to say.
@Ace Rockolla Yeah, me too. They're on RUclips. If I can't sleep, I put on an old episode and I'm right back in high school, when I used to play it while falling asleep.
I'm not familiar with Dr Drew, a couple of the Rehab episodes but he comes across as a rational straight forward thinking astute individual. Great and chilled podcast! 😎
I've got 5 or 6 under my belt, not in sequence, but I really get this format. I'm enjoying the guests more than a formatted show. The club allows the tangents to twist and turn to places previously un thought of
Love Club Random, the guests and you are killing it! Agree healthy, young people wearing a mask during Omicron are being lame, however, please don't assume all the young are healthy. Daughter, age 20, has had MDs advising her to wear an N-95 mask in public since age 13, because her immune system doesn't work.
Wishing the nest of health to you and your daughter, we should understand some will always need to wear a mask though so much of it is at the same time hysteria.
Also wishing you and your daughter the best. It seems like a cogent argument that the lame young people who are wearing masks as some sort of sociopolitical statement are delegitimizing the very real experiences of people like your daughter. It’s like a lame Lego stack. Many levels to it.
I hope you & your daughter are well. What Mr. Maurer & Mr. Pinsky do not mention is the younger, healthier people, like myself, who were willing to take reasonable precautions in attempts to reduce the risk of transmitting the infection to others. Also if I became infected I would be unable to care for others who became ill.
My mother in law lived through the 1918 flu, polio, and all the other diseases of the 20th century. As an adult, she drank a fifth of whisky every day, smoked a pack a day, and fried almost all of her foods. She lived until she was 88, had a terrible disposition, cursing everyone almost constantly. We think germs were afraid of her.
That is true. Whoever brings up "Gone With The Wind" any more, but Bill finds a reason to mention it seemingly every podcast. It made sense as regards Tarantino, at least.
GWTW was a BIG deal for Boomers because it was re-released nationally in the 1960s . . . playing in the best cinemas in the country . . . with bid ad campaign. "You had to be there . . . " to appreciate it.
Dr Drew talking about Scots and the South is something that Dr Thomas Sowell wrote about and how they influenced current black culture, the violence and quick to fight behavior was endemic in white Southern culture imported from Scotland.
The shit about "old dead white guys" at the end... Mozart died in poverty, so did Vivaldi and Schubert, if I'm not mistaken. If you like the concept that music can be self expressive, you can thank them for that. Bach died in obscurity and wouldn't be famous until well after 50 years after his death. You can't put a dollar amount on your contribution to society
Correction to what Dr. Drew said: Natalie Schafer played Mrs. Howell; Natalee Holloway was the unfortunate teenager who disappeared in Aruba in 2005 and who is presumed dead.
I love Real Time for a different reason than I love Club Random. This informal discussion about all topics not related specifically to current events, politics, and social commentary. It is nice to see Bill continue to be the adult in the room, but at the same time be a chill dude.
Bill Maher and I were born only a few months apart. We've both partied and loved so hard I consider him something of a long-lost brother. Bill, in my eyes you'll always be (like me) the man.

So do I, I just wish these podcasts were longer
Lol...ain't no damn weather in LA. As a lifelong NY'r, I'll never grasp how anyone can live w/out FOUR seasons...
Hahaha, Ernest Borgnine! This is awesome, love this show, Bill! Marty!
As soon as I saw that Bill and Dr. Drew were going to talk, I was in!! What a great listen!
It's amazing how Bill Maher can smoke weed, stay coherent, and have a deep conversation with another great mind like Dr. Drew!
After a couple of hits, there is no way I could hang lol
It took Bill 22 minutes to light that joint. I noticed there's no alcohol on the table this time. Drew is an addiction recovery specialist. I'm really shocked that Bill's smoking weed in front of him. I'm sure they cleared it with him before he showed up.
I am now addicted to Club Random Podcast. This episode is by far the best. I am looking forward to more. I actually learned something. "The coolidge effect" is on top of the list of my learning
Loved this conversation! Especially Bill talking about astrology 😂
Mike Tyson. He must have Mike Tyson on, I’m already laughing thinking about it
already did!
So enjoyed this one guys!!! You said it Dr Drew I love "hanging" with Bill Maher and these podcasts.
I’m a 34 year old republican from the south and I always catch real time on Friday nights. My dad would watch it when I was living at home still. Used to enjoy some beers and have some laughs with dad. Don’t always agree with Bill but he’s one of the few that tells it like it is.
I would probably be independent if we didn’t have a two party system. I’m not against democrats and both sides have crazies. Neither party in my opinion run on anything. Biden is a liar and has been his whole career. Hard to believe anyone in the middle class would have voted for Biden. My 401k and bank account looked a lot better under trump. I’m not a huge fan of trumps personality or attitude but I was financially better off. Gas and grocery trips sure were cheaper. lol
Great episode- VERY enjoyable. Bravo Bill & Dr Drew!!!
If ive learned one thing from each episode of this pod, its that "Land Katy Scarlett, laaandd. its the only ting worth fightin fer, worth dyin fer." Thank you, Bill.
Bill is not only the grown-ups, 34 year old from the Caribbean, listen to you every week ✊
Gone With the Wind...mentioned in every Podcast so far!
Hope it ain't a low blow on himself that he's a Blow hard which I don't mind but family first, and that's what counts
Thank you for how candid this felt.
Excellent conversation and wonderful to spend time with you both!!!
I agree with James Jackson!! Could listen to Bill & the doctor for easily another hour. Such EASY listening!!
I'm sure he'll do that.
Bill believes he's far superior to his audience. It'll never happen.
Drew!
hearing Bill read the SignalWire ad was by far the funniest thing I've seen in quite a while, he's got no clue wtf that is but soldiers on like a pro
Dr drew is the best! Use to tune in on the radio and listen to him with Adam Corrolla on loveline in the late 90's! This is the best. Great podcast Bill keep them coming.
Ya God Bless Club Random " I never got fucked up with you" he's speaking to the guy who tells celebrities they need rehab so that was cute, I was tearing up laughing 😅🤣... I jus realized I'm writing on my mom's RUclips 🤣
Oh Drew's been doing alot of going out to titty bars and drinking lately... Check out his podcast on YMH network
Thanks for fighting against the old man thoughts regarding podcasts, and finally doing a podcast. Keep them coming and if you wanted to make them longer I wouldn't complain.
Albion's Seed:
East Anglians to New England;
Normans to Virginia;
Quakers to Pennsylvania;
North Britons to Frontier.
I'm only 15 minutes in, and this is already the best episode yet.
Dr. Drew really is coming up in May. Also as a younger guy who's been watching Maher for years I feel like he should know his audience isn't all old heads
Too bad they only drink and don’t eat. Hot sauce is the best.
Bill’s gotta “G” on. To talk about cool stuff, slick stuff, neat stuff…
46:05 "GOODNESS THIS IS SO FUN. GOD BLESS CLUB RANDOM." Amen, Awomen!! Keep up the great work Bill, we love you.
Bill Maher quote "normal people like us" best part
Miss hearing Dr Drew.. been about 20 yrs since i last heard him on the Radio 🌟⚡️🍻👍😎
most random guest but loving it. Always surprising us w/ these cool guests! Keep em coming
I watch Dr. Drew after dark every week. Not random at all for me. He's my daddy Drew.
@Clint Smith plus, Carolla talked about it with Bill on his podcast a couple weeks ago and is probably going to air next week or the week after. And as the saying goes where you see Drew, you will always see Carolla and vice versa.
It's Club Random
Not that random. They're friends who sing karaoke together
@@psychohazards keeping our jeans high and tight!
Thank You Bill!!
Drew is very personable. I remember hearing him on the radio with Adam during my first year in College in San Diego in 95-96. Great days. I like hearing what he has to say.
That show was great
He’s great and this was the best episode of this podcast - just wish it was longer
Personable guy. So what? Bad Doctor...
I still Listen to the Adam years of Loveline regularly.... It really was something special. Still so incredibly relevant today.
@Ace Rockolla
Yeah, me too. They're on RUclips. If I can't sleep, I put on an old episode and I'm right back in high school, when I used to play it while falling asleep.
This was hilarious! So much fun laughing with them!
I'm not familiar with Dr Drew, a couple of the Rehab episodes but he comes across as a rational straight forward thinking astute individual. Great and chilled podcast! 😎
What a treat it would be to have a drink with these guys
Bill is so great. He says what we all think.
Great stuff! Really enjoyed these two chatting away here!
Dr Drew is a delight 💕
"Were you in a fire"?? 😆 🤣 😂
Bill we gotta lose the disco ball and the lasers lol
agreed
Yup
I've got 5 or 6 under my belt, not in sequence, but I really get this format. I'm enjoying the guests more than a formatted show. The club allows the tangents to twist and turn to places previously un thought of
Both of my parents were Officers in the US Navy & watching "Machales Navy" was almost mandatory.
Very entertaining and amusing! Thanks to the two contributors#
@@alexbaum2204 Thank you for your kind words.
Man, he REALLY likes "Gone With The Wind"; think this is the third time he's brought it up.
That is true. Whoever brings up "Gone With The Wind" any more, but Bill finds a reason to mention it seemingly every podcast. It made sense as regards Tarantino, at least.
Frankly I could give a s***
I think he gets stoned and watches it
GWTW was a BIG deal for Boomers because it was re-released nationally in the 1960s . . . playing in the best cinemas in the country . . . with bid ad campaign. "You had to be there . . . " to appreciate it.
And his bit about kids with masks on outside and wanting to punch them...
Dr Drew talking about Scots and the South is something that Dr Thomas Sowell wrote about and how they influenced current black culture, the violence and quick to fight behavior was endemic in white Southern culture imported from Scotland.
So true, the Scots take no crap from anyone, lol.
As an artist, we do hope now that there is a society to appreciate it if I become worthy.
@@jeffreywillstewart Your value is subjective.
Really enjoyed this. Thanks Bill. 🤙🏼
Correction to what Dr. Drew said: Natalie Schafer played Mrs. Howell; Natalee Holloway was the unfortunate teenager who disappeared in Aruba in 2005 and who is presumed dead.
Ok wow. I never realized how much I like Dr. Drew.
really enjoyed this, as I'm a fan of both of you. Bill, you should do that spot on Dr. Drew After Dark
Keep Feathering it Dr Drew! You bet I'm coming up in May!
"Were you in a fire?" Dude, that's fucking hilarious.
I died when he said that, effin hilarious.
