Man I will never not love the sound of Genesis synthesis. My music school has a DX-7 that someone donated for free and a lot of those same sounds are present on that board. It warms my heart. haha
Thank you so much. I have such very fond memories of playing Etrian Odyssey I and II in university. And especially the music. I had trouble making friends and adjusting back then, so my gaming was very important to me. I was so motivated after hearing Inspecting the resounding weapons (the battle theme that plays later into EO2).
Man, I can't wait for the EO HD collection to drop so I can fall in love with the games all over again. Your music was and will always be a huge part of that, so thank you ever so much, Koshiro-san!
I can only dream if Etrian Odyssey is released on Sega Genesis. Your work is very phenomenal, Koshiro-san. I love every single of your work, they uplift my moods.
This one gives me some nostalgic vibes, because my very first Etrian Odyssey title was Etrian Odyssey 2 Untold: The Fafnir Knight. As such, I would hear both the arrangement, and the original, PC-8801 (YM2203) FM synth version of this very song in my early, tough days of going through the Yggdrasil Labyrinth. With the upcoming Etrian Odyssey Origins Collection, I'm looking to hop into the original EO2 and finally go through the 6th Stratum properly, and things like this are great to tide me over until the day comes! Edit: I kinda wonder, since I know you rearranged the SQ5/EO5 soundtrack in FM synth using a YM2151... Would it be possible to hear one of those songs playing on genuine YM2151 hardware?
Nice! Very cool that you’re working with hardware chips! Are you playing live shows sometimes? Last time I was in Tokyo I went to a show where you played (also Chip Tanaka), but I had to catch the last train and missed your show. It still haunts me that I missed your show 😅
Loving this another rendition of EO2 battle theme. I wonder if you're remastering all tracks from the games in EO Origins Collection in some capacity for a cleaner version.
I loved this one! So great to hear it again in an even fresher way. I'm also curious, would you be able to share why this battle theme and the first battle theme of the third game share the same name? I've always wondered about that.
I'm poor at giving a name to song titles over the years, so I had Atlus name all the songs. So I have no idea why they both had the same name, and that never crossed my mind in the first place...(maybe they forgot about it or cut corners? 🤔)
@@yuzokoshiro2631 Interesting! Thanks for the reply, that's one mystery (sort of) solved, haha. I guess we'll never know for sure what Atlus was doing with those.
wow this sounds incredible! its really cool seeing a ym2151 arrangement in a more modern production workflow. i think it would have been cool of the drums had some downsampling to play into that okim6295/6258 quality that's closely associate with the ym2151

Etrian battle music: "Upbeat, we-can-do-it attitude."
Text descriptions in Etrian: "The horrifying sight before you almost defies description..."
Modern technology blending perfectly with old school sound chips. Sounds wonderful, thanks for sharing!
Etrian Odyssey is easily one of my favorite RPG franchise ever and my favorite dungeon crawler one. Your work on the games is legendary! :D

Always a pleasure to take a peek at your project files.
And this has always been one of my favorite battle themes from you.
This arrangement sounds amazing! ❤
The bridge arrangement is amazing, Yuzo. And as usual, you have great sensibilities to choose the patches.
The sound that got me addicted to EO in the first place.

I love this battle theme! EO2/SQ2 was the first game I played so this is my favorite track across the whole series.
i'm so excited for the remaster i do not have words for it. thank you so much for all your work.
I've always loved bass track of this song :)
The theme of having your your squishy party members being punched to death by statues
This version kicks ass! Thank you for dropping such a great tune!
Thank you Koshiro-San for evoking so much emotion through your music .
Such a fantastic track!!! Thank you!
Another banger
Digging those fills.
What a coincidence, I'm in the middle of playing the original version of EOII at the moment.
I love this so much ❤️
And tbh I’m curious about the upcoming 6th stratum battle theme for EO3 HD :^)
Man, I would kill for a FM synth version of this theme with the solo from 新SQ2
Perfect music! Thanks Master Koshiro!
I'am using Addictive Drums 2 too. Great to see You're using it too :-D
Yuzo is my hero!
This is amazing! total FM Synth Mastery
My favorite battle theme, thank you!

I'd love to hear it, too. I'll try to make one of those when I have time.

Mr. Koshiro, is there any chance for us in South America to get to see you playing live concert? Greetings from Argentina
Getting better every day!
Beautiful 🤘🏼

the GOAT
Wonderfully done, Koshiro-san! But I think that better use the lo-fi drum samples that sounded usually with FM songs in 80-90s =)
