If he reaches over the arm and in front of your head he will cross face you and smash you. Kimura will not be there. And if hes up near the head smashing you he will probably get the pass.

@@oldeenglish64 sorry buddy. You’re wrong. I’ve been doing octopus guard since 2005. If you have their waist, when they go to cross face you, you simply trap their wrist in a kimura. It’s a white belt mistake to try to cross face here. It’s instinctually what someone will try to do. I’ve hit this literally hundreds of times on every belt. I can actually catch people way better than I am with this if I can get there. A lot of people do t know about the octopus guard, so they think it’s just BS or someone moving in a random way. That’s what’s so dangerous about it.
