Boaz Bismuth is a prominent Israeli journalist and politician. Born on November 25, 1964, in Rehovot, Israel, he has had a significant career in both journalism and diplomacy. Bismuth served as Israel's Ambassador to Mauritania from 2004 to 2008. He holds a Bachelor's degree in Political Science from Bar-Ilan University and a Master's degree in International Relations from Sorbonne University in Paris. Additionally, he graduated with honors from the Center of Diplomatic and Strategic Studies in Paris in 2004.
In journalism, Bismuth is well-known for his role at Israel Hayom, Israel's largest-circulation daily newspaper. He joined the paper in 2008 as a foreign affairs editor and senior analyst, eventually becoming the editor-in-chief in May 2017, a position he held until January 2022. Before his tenure at Israel Hayom, Bismuth worked as a Paris correspondent for Yedioth Ahronoth, specializing in war reporting and coverage from hostile Arab countries.
In 2022, Bismuth announced his bid to run in the Likud primaries, aiming for a position in the Knesset, Israel's parliament. He succeeded and currently serves as a Knesset member for the Likud party, contributing to various parliamentary activities and committees.
