    Regarding the third assumption, what do I do when I have a continuous variable with lots of zeros?

    Thanks for the video! I have a question, does the linearity assumption for independent variables not apply when they are only of binary type? IV is Yes/no and Outcome is also Yes/No.
    Thank you so much!

      Hi, sorry for late reply. Yes only continuous independent variables need to be tested for the assumption of being linearly related to the log odds. So any nominal (categorical) variables don't need to be checked in this way.

    Hi there, may i know is outlier part of the assumption in binary logistic regression or is the relationship between logit continuous variables . Thank you

    • @knowhow3271
      @knowhow3271  3 года назад +1

      Hi, sorry for the late reply. Any continuous independent variable should be checked for linearity with the log odds. It's good practice to check for outliers but you might find some sources don't list it as an assumption, whilst others do. I think it's good to at least check, although it can be a complicated issue if you do have outliers and I would recommend reading the following article www.theanalysisfactor.com/outliers-to-drop-or-not-to-drop/

    What happens when one of your interactions (Variable by LN_Variable) doesn't show up in the table? I put in 5 variables and their interactions with the log-odds, but only 4 show up. It also doesn't show up when I just add that one.

    Wow, this is awesome. Thank you so much! Just a very practical question. How do you get that table so nicely in Word? When I paste it, either it is pasted like an image or as a very skewed table.

    • @knowhow3271

      Glad it was useful. Sometimes you just have to try the various paste options until one works. it might depend what version of word/SPSS you have and whether using a Mac, but I didn't do anything special

    Thank you for the video. I have 4 independent, continuous variables and I am following your explanation to check the outliers, but when I compute variable and enter the equation then ok, I got a message said the expression ends unexpectedly. I am not sure what’s the problem and I just wanted to to make sure that the number of variables do not have a problem with the options? Thank you again
