Welcome to The Frey Life daily vlogs! We are Peter & Mary, a married couple in our early 30's, showing the ups and downs of everyday life with #CysticFibrosis, a genetic lung disease that Mary was born with. In August 2019, Mary started a new CF medication that changed the trajectory of our future, and we are now in the process of growing our family through #adoption. We have an adorable standard poodle, Oliver, and a hairless sphynx cat, Harry. It's our hope that these videos can be an encouragement to to celebrate the little things in life and find joy amidst a world full of hard realities!

Going through with a pregnancy is a difficult decision. When you add the struggle of feeling that baby grow knowing you will be handing that child over to someone else is more difficult. Running the risk of your child not finding an adoptive family would be tragic. White babies are highly in demand so I’m interested in how many neon white babies are not adopted right after birth.

As a biological mom of two and an adoptive mom of one, I understand how overflowing the heart becomes for all of the children that become part of your family regardless of how they arrive at your doorstep. Congratulations on the birth of your son and loving prayers for you as you start this new chapter in your lives! I couldn't possibly be happier for you! Prayers are also lifted up for the birth mother as she heals and finds new footing along the path of her future journeys.

I was adopted and this brought back so many feelings. I want to cry because another person was saved, but I also am sad to think of the feelings he may have growing up. So sweet! Thank you for mentioning that the birth family loves your son too. As an international adoptee that will probably never find my birth parents, it means a lot! It can be a traumatic experience to realize that even though you have a loving adoptive family, you’ll never know your biological one. You two are amazing!

I went through a period of time where I watched almost daily, now I just check in sometimes. But the fact that it could be difficult for you to get up and down the stairs really made an impression on me years ago. Watching your videos inspired me to choose Ivacaftor as the subject for one of my medicinal chem term papers. I got to learn so much about it, and it was so exciting to hear when Trikafta was approved a few months later, and then to see the difference it made for you in real-time. Now, seeing you not just getting up the stairs with ease, but doing so while being able to carry your new baby made me tear up. Congratulations to all of you - Mary, Peter, Ollie, Harry, and your new baby. I am so happy to see you thriving and so full of love

I’m laying in my bed bawling as I’m pregnant with my own son. This pregnancy has knocked my on my back for months, but seeing your joy as you held your baby boy helped me remember that it’s all worth it. Mary, you’ve had to go through sickness that has knocked you down- and I’m sure your son’s birth mom did as well. But it’s those moments of sickness that create a mother. In you, in the birth mom, in me…
For anyone going through illness right now (whether it’s for a baby or not) this video is proof of why it’s worth it. Rewards come in whatever form we need them to, as Mary and Peter just proved.

Truly blessed for the birth mummy for picking you and Peter as her sons new mummy and daddy. As a mum of 2 girls it must of be heart wrenching for the birth mum to go through pregnancy and birth, and then hand over her baby to you to adopt, but that is her story to tell. This lady did in her heart, what was best for her and her baby, and thats all that matters.
