Kramer brings back memories. Anyone in Edmonton Canada with a 1987 Yellow lefty Kramer with a Kahler on it, give me a call. It might be my first ever guitar. Would love to get it back.
The Chorus pedal is probably the most used effect, over used in my opinion. 80s power ballads made me dislike the sound. Shoegaze or Dreampop is a different story.
One thing about the battery back-up aspect, keep checking the batteries for corrosion; I've had batteries destroying pedals when I didn't check them often enough and it doesn't take long for that green goo-the corrosion-to build up.
I've looked and looked and looked at that beretta special but haven't pulled the trigger yet. I was worried about it being a one trick pony, but this video has sold me on it. The pedals too!
Nevermind, I figured it out, the original shirts had Judas Priest in blue written above the graphic , the graphic was smaller, ans Screaming for Vengeance was written below....!!
The Allen Eden Soul Mate has a tap tempo feature too. After you switch it on, put your foot on the switch a second time and hold it for three seconds. The status light will blink, and you can tap your foot four times in the tempo you want a quarter note to repeat in. Great delay, I’m totally happy with mine.
I have the Kramer Barreta Special in vintage white but I did upgrade to locking tuners and added roller saddles on the bridge. Stays in tune well and adding Big Bends Nut Sauce helps on the plastic nut.
Weeee! I love Allen Eden stuff. I've purchased a few things from them before and have always had great quality builds and remarkable customer service. This is the first I've heard their pedals. Thanks!
Nice! This is how I do it, too. I like to use an analog delay for the trails and reverb at the same time. Makes my 80's tone sound a little on the shoegazey side.
Hey, there's this guitar on amazon called the LyxPro and it's a beginner kit for $160. It's not at all what you would expect from a guitar that price. It sounds amazing and plays absolutely incredible with a satin neck. I think you should check them out. Definitely underrated.
Is the Black Waves basically a Rat circuit? Fantastic sound on this video, Max. I’ve got an S ton of distortion and delay. But I need a good chorus pedal. This is a good one.
BASS player here, what a video, man!!!! Thanks for the new pedals, went to their site, wow!!! There are a few boxes I want already, delay and reverb... I want to know about background noise and hiss if existent at all.
I didn't have any issue with noise. Even with the distortion pedal, it was pretty "quiet". Keep in mind though, that I set this up on a totally clean amp setting. If you have gain turned up on the amp, that might create some noise.
@@GuitarMAXMusic Thanks for the info, drooling at their web site. Was hunting the local classifieds and saw an old Yamaha dd-100, 80$ CAD, same price i'm getting Allen Eden digital delay. P.S. my two amps are solid state AND made in the U.S.A. Thanks to you, again!!!
I love you guitar Max!! I used to have Rapist Glasses but that didn't work out, then I tried not giving a fuck and it worked for a while but I got bored, so now I have been learning to play guitar from your videos and it it aweeeesome!!
Anyone know what bands he has been in? I love his style and just 80s in general. There's just something about cranking the gain but still sounding super clean and smooth that I just can't get enough of, especially when shredding
Surprised this is your first go round with Allen Eden. I got one of their 1987 neck thru guitars a while back - and it's really nice. Their latest models are all fender/gibson copies - which is disappointing.
There was a 90s show called w.m.a.c masters. It was like WWE but martial arts. There was a guy named Turbo. Looks just like Max. His name is Mike Lombardo.
I seem to see a pattern with all these "discount" pedals as they all seem to have the same controls and layouts just with different cases and/or paint jobs. Have you done a comparison between them (ex. AE v Donner v Sonicake)? I have been super satisfied with Donner products but I have feeling that if I bought another discount brand and opened it up I'd be looking at the same guts.
@@GuitarMAXMusic i'm interested in the setting of the distortion at minute 3:52, corus at 4:00 minute and delay at minute 4:10. The distortion setting doesn't change when you play it in combo with the other pedals does it?
@@GuitarMAXMusic Saw a rig rundown with Steve Lukather once and he had the Chorus before the distortion. i was like “WAT?”. Tried it out and now that’s how i roll.
Yo dawg, we heard you like battery redundancy. So we put a battery compartment in your battery compartment so you can have redundant battery redundancy.
OK, that distortion was way better than I expected!
Good. Like share and subscribe he needs way more subs and isnt a total wanker.
I instantly like any video with a Kramer in it.
Kramer brings back memories. Anyone in Edmonton Canada with a 1987 Yellow lefty Kramer with a Kahler on it, give me a call. It might be my first ever guitar. Would love to get it back.
I still have a '84 Beretta & a '89 Stagemaster Custom 1. Just can't seem to part with them.
That Kramer is great!
Chorus is so underrated. Almost sounds like you have that chorus acting like a flanger
The Chorus pedal is probably the most used effect, over used in my opinion. 80s power ballads made me dislike the sound. Shoegaze or Dreampop is a different story.
Check out this amp:

U nailed Lynch Dokken tones. Suscribed!
As always, bonus points for anyone rocking a Priest shirt!
Double points for a priest wearing a Priest shirt??
I pre-ordered that guitar (Kramer Baretta Special) months ago and it’s finally supposed to ship in a couple weeks
Hey Max!
Thanks for making video for people who can’t afford boutique pedals and need to sound like their 80s guitar heroes.
Thanks from india.
I graduated in 88. I now Hate the Chorus pedal played clean on a Power Ballad . The intro to "Love is on the way " is a great example.
I like that red Kramer.
That distortion sounds.... wow. That's an 80's sound!
Best gear channel on YT!
Thank you!
this channel is so underrated
Max! Bring back the unboxings with the armor and sword!
Love the anticipation and comedy in the beginning
Great vid as always, mate
I can't stop looking at that Paoletti guitar on your wall...
OK, that T shirt has been around since I was your age. Eek. I just typed that.
Is it my imagination or are the colors on Max's shirt a bit off from the originals?
Nevermind, I figured it out, the original shirts had Judas Priest in blue written above the graphic , the graphic was smaller, ans Screaming for Vengeance was written below....!!
I hear ya, i have the album I bought when it came out.. Good shit man!
Wow, still rocking out in your 70's. 👍
@@1RungAtATime 59 almost 60 but who's counting. Although I'm more afraid of breaking a hip than the law.
Priest shirt+turbo distortion pedal=delicious!
Wow. When the turbo clicked on it was a very noticeable difference. It sounded pretty darn good.
Awesome barretta!

Boss used to make a pedal called the Metalizer in the 80's that melded distortion & chorus.
I bought a Barretta special after seeing your vid on the blue one and I’ve modified it and I love it so I wanna thank you max :)
Great to hear!
I just bought the candy blue Baretta from AMS!
@@tomrandall6099 I bought that too man it’s my best purchase :)

Also, you're kinda dialing in that DeMartini / Crosby tone from mid-80's RATT. Pretty killer.
I have a AE strat and it's excellent, mm delicious. Don't have their pedals, might have to check them out. You make this stuff sound great.😉
Rock on!
Talking about TURBO with the wrong Judas Priest shirt on!!! Stay safe!
Nice! This is how I do it, too. I like to use an analog delay for the trails and reverb at the same time. Makes my 80's tone sound a little on the shoegazey side.
Kramer so underrated, had one in the 80’s when it was a top of the line guitar before Ibanez blew everyone away!
Have you checked out the TC electonics pedals? Supper inexpensive, and real mind blowers.

I love metal pedal reviews. I heard a Ratt tone and some of your picking sounded like Tony Iomi.
Love the beretta that's one of the coolest guitars they made. But I'm bias love the single volume no tone simple lay out.
Is the Black Waves basically a Rat circuit? Fantastic sound on this video, Max. I’ve got an S ton of distortion and delay. But I need a good chorus pedal. This is a good one.
The Black Waves is based on the Rat. The whole Allen Eden pedal series is well made especially for the price.
Nice review and big thumbs for the Screaming shirt! Keep it up!

I’m with ya Max all pedals should have a battery compartment.
Sounds Great. I use a Boss M-50 Multi-effect.
You need to cut the bleed off the volume pot on that guitar. It will sound better.
Fantastic review
Great Info Brother, Love your videos, thank you, keep it up
Every time I try a new pedal, I get toast!
Hi Max enjoy your videos, you have bought guitars from DHGate, I have bought one, how long do I have to wait?
Anyone know what bands he has been in? I love his style and just 80s in general. There's just something about cranking the gain but still sounding super clean and smooth that I just can't get enough of, especially when shredding
Just need to grab a chorus and I think my pedalboard is complete.
How do you seem like a cool dude and an asshole at the same time, you enigma you? Keep rocking, Max. Love your channel.
Good job Danzig, keep up the good work.
-5 points.
You had them sounding great.
"Any time there is a turbo setting on a pedal, I want that pedal!" 😂
Rad pedals dude. And that guitar looks sweet!
Thanks Metal Dude!
Awesome brother!!
Im really interested in get your hair's tone man... In an affordable manner, naturally
I would dare say you want some phase in there, as well, for the growl.

Love the 80s metal music, altho tbh, don't necessarily miss the "singing" that came with a lot of them! 🤣
The ultimate Max t-shirt right there lol
I zoned out and watched a huge chunk of ads so your welcome 😂
Thanks!!
Bro max responded! LUL
That is pretty cool

Love the Judas Priest shirt! Great!
You had me at "affordable".

The Amazon pedals (made by NUX?) are supposed to be really good and super cheap.
Great video and tones.
Also am I the only one that thinks those pedals are repainted biyang pedals?
Max is "Screaming for vengeance" in that T!!!!! Also no dislikes must be a ton of baby boomers (like myself) watching!!!
distortion before chorus or Chorus before distortion ?
Distortion before chorus in this setup!
@@GuitarMAXMusic Saw a rig rundown with Steve Lukather once and he had the Chorus before the distortion. i was like “WAT?”. Tried it out and now that’s how i roll.
Rat forever! I have Dark Mouse by Donner and it's great, fat and aggressive.
Nice t shirt. 👍
You need to get the klon clone from Wish ar aliexpress because they are awesome......
I have the Caline one (Pegasus) and I love it.
@@72dodge340 great pedals! I opened a clone and the schematic is almost identical to the klon and for the price they are fantastic.
I clicked because of the Priest shirt.
A tomato soup colored Beretta?? Wow.
Cool t shirt
I’m a turbo lover.......
Gostei demais 😀
How can I believe this video if I didn't get to see the unboxing of those pedals? HMM.
bruh
@Stoodio808 so what?
Yeah, where’s the sword and armor??
Love that shirt. Judas Priest!!!4ever
That Judas Priest shirt is also necessary for that 80s tone. Just making sure everyone know that as well.

Screaming...Screaming for Vengeance!
Very nice .
You got so many Free guitars now you going for the Free effects pedals, what about the strings ?😃
I don't think I could make a string review very interesting!!
The distortion sounds like Jason Becker's tone
Speaking of turbo. The tone sounds very power rangers turbo.
GO!
screaming for vengeance was a great album.is a
I bought the same Kramer in white. I paid $735. Are you saying I over paid? Thanks brother. GO YANKEES!
Why did that first chord progression sound like Megadeth
Guess Guitar Max couldn't find his Megadeth shirt.
It's salmon not pink
6:58 he just looks like a sad chorus pedal to me.
Get an Ibanez session man..chorus and distortion and still cheap.
Cha ching.
Another Rat clone? What a surprise, considering it is one of the greatest circuits ever conceived.
Kinda disappointed not gonna lie...was looking forward to some Turbo Lover riff's haha!
Clean tones were good with the 2 effects, but the distortion sounds like ass
Max - don’t you mean this your attempt at coming up with an affordable classic Akira Takasaki tone??? Not exactly an 80s metal tone. 🤣🤣🤣
