Flagrant 2 is a comedy podcast that delivers unfiltered, unapologetic, and unruly hot takes directly to your dome piece. In an era dictated by political correctness, hosts Andrew Schulz and Akaash Singh, along with AlexxMedia and Mark Gagnon, could care less about sensitivities. If it’s funny and flagrant it flies. If you are sensitive this podcast is not for you. But if you miss the days of comedians actually being funny instead of preaching to a quire then welcome to The Flagrancy.

I don’t and have never watched SNL regularly (I’m 35) because I’ve NEVER found it funny. I can’t even come off the top with a specific sketch that sticks out to me unless it’s the times that Chappelle has been on there.
It’s too soft. It rarely pushes the envelope. If a huge majority gives you a pass (a la FOX/ SNL) you’re not doing comedy right. IMO.
Comedy should make you not only laugh, but think, reassess your stances on topics, and even educate you.
I never understood why SNL was so popular other than it was the only sketch comedy consistently shoved down people’s throats.

SNL definitely isn’t good, which makes sense when you have so many cooks in the kitchen and five days to create a 90 min show that is performed live. But do you really think Dillon wouldn’t jump at the chance to appear on SNL? He knows it’s not a possibility but if it was, he would definitely do it.

@@SallyMankus130 I'm not sure he would, unless he went on to make fun of the show.
SNL just doesn't have the star power is once had because of the many other alternatives ways young comedians can get a stage. It used to be all about getting on SNL or Second City (or the Daily Show to a lesser degree) to get noticed, but now with the internet and podcasts, talented comedians don't have to depend on SNL.

    • @Whitesquall123

@@kpeezyforsheezy SNL is responsible for launching the careers of some of the funniest people, but since the rise of the internet and podcasts (aka an alternative way for comedians to get exposure), they haven't attracted the talent they used to.
Now, the best comedians completely avoid SNL (except maybe to host once in a while).

The Californians sketch, for example, only needs people talking about specific navigation, breaking character, and ending with everyone in the room looking at the camera through a tall mirror. You could effortlessly produce that each week and they have lots of sketches like that on the ready.

There's a reason if you look up old SNL skits of your favorite SNL star, you generally see the same skits of theirs over and over.
There are a lot of great comedians that came out of SNL, but look at Norm MacDonald-- he got FIRED from SNL. Because they said HE WASN'T FUNNY. Obviously there's something systemic in the structure of SNL that is the issue, not the Comedians necessarily. I'd extend this to Michael Che because who knows how much he's been muzzled. Big fan of you two! Everyone wants you to take a hard stance left or right lol, but they are all angry idiots. Keep doing you, continue to stay as unbiased as possible. It’s fucking refreshing to hear a conversation like this where it’s just real and no agenda. This is your lane dude, don’t change.
