A top 10 of players whom performerd the best at 1 or more world cup(s) doenst have to include world cup winners in my opinion. But at the very least they should have a memorable performance and be compared to the their rivals playing in the same position.
My top eleven would be:
Kahn (02)
Cafu (02, 06) he was good at 98 but not memorable. Didnt play much in 94 if i remember correctly.
Beckenbauer (no need to explain),
Maldini, was good in 90, but played excellent in 94 in absence of Baresi. Carried the defence almost singlehandedly playing as a centre defence.
R. Carlos (98, 02). Wasnt that good in 06. His fault that Brasil lost to France.
