Thank you for joining me in my trips again. In May 2022, I left Hong Kong for the first time in two years to Bangkok, Thailand for a short vacation. There will be a few episodes for this series of videos, including both flight and hotel reviews.

Welcome onboard CX701, oneworld service from Hong Kong to Bangkok. The flight, operated by an Airbus 350-1000 (B-LXL), departed from Hong Kong International Airport at around 4:15pm and flew all the way to the west of Hong Kong, and finally arrived at Bangkok at around 6pm local. The 2-hour flight had refreshment served and I definitely enjoyed the Cathay Pacific service.

It must be painful to be stuck in HK throughout the entire pandemic with the city's geographical restraint ! Nevertheless I absolutely miss CX and HK and hopefully the 7 days quarantine will cease to exist in the near future...
It is shortened to 3 days now, I'm stuck in the quarantine right now

My last visit to HKG was a transit from BOS to SYD in Jan 2020. I miss the bustle of flying, but especially the inflight catering. Let's hope it gets back to even the on-request menu of pre-Covid soon!

@@MarcoPoloClubFlyer no, in Australia with family. Hopefully a trip to the US later this year. Staffing issues have been crazy for Australia domestic the current long weekend

That's cool. I heard that CX is now extending everybody's membership for 1 more year... Good news for everyone!
Good to be flying again right? When visiting The Pier back in May, there was also no one else. Hope CX resume more flights and to make it easier for people to transit, now testing rule is relaxed. Surprise to see paper menu still provided.

They’ve changed the inflight announcements! No longer the same as the pre-pandemic days

How's the food at the lounge
I will be transferring in HKG from LAX to BKK next week. Flying business. Will I have access to the first class lounge as well?
Based on my understanding in May (not sure if they’ve updated the policy), the answer is unfortunately no. All transiting passengers are only allowed to access The Pier Business Class Lounge. The First Class Lounge is only for passengers departing directly from HK or transiting via HK from China
PS: Some minor microphone issues?
Haha, Clement, yes, sorry, this was my first time using an external microphone, super sorry for the poor voice, especially when I was at the lounge restaurant. :(
How can someone from a normal social background afford business class?
