    Had no idea you can apply changes using layers. Mind blown! I often do inpainting I might like to revisit later so I shall be using this, thanks Olivio!

    Nice, Olivio. Over the years, I have worked out the same tricks. Which simply means that you and I are thinking along the same lines. Cool! The one additional thing I do is, rather than using the erase tool on my pixel layers, I add a mask and hide rather than erase parts. That way, I can easily go back and reveal an element if I need to re-adjust something.

    You did a beautiful job in removing the doorway in the tunnel. I have written down your workflow and will use its options in the future. Bravo!!

    Thank you for this information on things I did not realize were available! I am constantly taking people/things out of my photos only using the clone brush, but with these added tools I can do the removal even more effectively.

      Thank you very much. Yes, the inpaint brush is really good and fast (when it works ;) )

    Great demo all round mate . Like everything, practice practice practice makes perfect .
    Matching patterns, textures, colours is so important . One of the harder subject I find is big blue sky as there is far more variations than we can actually notice . I drop a photo in your FB face that I have used in the past to show just how different the blue tones can be .

    Another little trick I have found is when you have small blown out spots-like what you often see in a woodland shot-is to use the impaint brush tool set at 50% to tone down those areas (rather than totally eliminate them).

    Thank you so much for all your tutorials. I have an extremely hard photo to edit, it's a pic of an airboat with text over top of a few areas. I am having an extremely hard time removing the background and the text. Can you maybe give me some advice on how to do this.

    If you want to keep it non destructive, why using the erase tool to blend the layers instead of using a mask ?

    • @OlivioSarikas
      @OlivioSarikas  2 года назад

      That's a very good question. You can do that of course, if you already know you are not going to add more to that layer. However, in many cases I find myself coming back to these layers and playing around some more with the clone brush or inpaint tool. And in that cases it would be time consuming to find out where the masks is and remove it accordingly, while protecting a layer that wasn't finished or perfect yet. But you can do it either way, based on which you prefer

      @@OlivioSarikas too much masks kills the masks... The truth may hide somewhere in a good balance of layers and masks ;-)

      hm... challenge accepted. First of all: money doesn't come from working hours, it comes from income streams. So think what extra income streams you could create. Even if they only bring in like $100-200 a month, that's already something. look at your life and see what problems you have solved for yourself and how others could benefit from your solutions, or where you have a surplus in your life. No try to think about ways how you could turn that into a product or a service. simple is better here, because it meets more demand. That is why there are so many coffee and burger joints. next think about if there are by-products to what you already do, that you could also sell. for example: make photos for customers, then sell the extra photos that are not customer specific on stock pages and make online courses on skillshare and such about how you got that photo work and how you did that photo job, then also make a newsletter where you give free advice and also promote your services and courses. now cut down on all brand purchases and sell things you don't need and cancle services you don't use or shouldn't use (for example if you have netflix, watch prime instead or stay with youtube for free). go to free parties that allow bringing your own drinks and food or make your own parties in parks and on beaches. now you have more income and less expenses. put at least $100 per month in stocks and other investments BUT only buy companies you really know and like. Don't buy stocks because others told you they are great. Do all this and work on the leverage: always look into what earns me the most and ist the least work and what earns the least and is the most work. drop the bad earners, maximise the good earners. Do that for some years and you should be good :)
