True however if you have trichotillomania(which is when you obsessively pluck or rip out your hair) like I do it is very hard to stop especially since it usually comes from OCD. Generally if your hairs are not strong enough to find their way to the surface of the skin, there is some deficiency that is causing that, and an ingrown hair is simply the side effect.
Doesn't have to be a deficiency. Skin diseases can cause the same problem. For my disease in particular ingrown hairs effectively cause permanent damage making it harder for hair to grow back out, so it is litteraly making itself worse.
You can actually get ingrown hairs without plucking as well, I usually get them on my forearms where I tend to lean on things. Not sure why, but it’s definitely a trend
Tip: if a part of your hair on your arm/leg gets ingrown, ask your mom for help. Because if you dont pull the tip of the hair out on time, you might need a surgery. (This usually happen at "special place". Its completely normal.)
