I love gold.....who doesn't ! But gems are actually more abundant and the variety lends itself to chances of finding a gemstone. I lived in western mass. for two decades and spent a lot of time at the old loudville lead and silver mine. But about 20 miles southwest of that mine is a small town named Blandford. The metamorphosed schist in that area has beautiful garnet and kyanite in it. I have found several inches long kyanite crystals with its classic triclinic shape and many garnets up to about a half inch across. Thank you for sharing this with everyone, it's a great thing to also help gold prospectors break up the monotony of solely searching for gold !!!
Huh…I think I tossed some sapphires, maybe garnets. I’ll have to go back to Tamarack Creek next trip up. Just getting all my stuff together. It’s been in storage for so long. Been dying to go up and dig a bit. Definitely have to pay more attention to my pan or sluice. Thank you for the video. I have to admit I almost always watch and then jump to the next one without hitting the like button, but I’m getting better at it. Definitely a like 😂😁👍
I get quite a few people every day who want me to ID their rock and mineral photos. I do not offer a mineral ID service, mostly because it’s not as easy as you think. Usually, minerals cannot be identified from just a picture. Please watch my videos on how to Identify minerals for yourself. Part 1 can be found here: ruclips.net/video/MpkW58ZeQlc/видео.html and Part 2 can be found here: ruclips.net/video/zOWo49X90gA/видео.html and Part 3 can be found here: ruclips.net/video/_ab5NngRlVw/видео.html - Those videos should answer a lot of your questions
Thank you as always! Could you make a video on placer gold in northern Spain? Geology shows there should be some good gold silver etc deposits but not much is mined since the romans. For example they started a mine just weeks before the civil war and in those 3 weeks they mines massive amounts of arsenopyrite/pyrite and at least 4 kilos of gold. When the war started they stopped and never went further. The mine is located in Cerler close to the French border
Maybe one day. I've never been to Spain, and less than 1 percent of my viewers are from Spain. Probably 99 percent of my viewers would have no interest in it. You would be interested but the vast majority, no.
The kind of rock formation and type gold and gemstones are found in are typically different from one another. Garnet and placer gold are an exception .
Yes, but it is possible to have different types of rocks erroding to one drainage. Also quartz crystals and sometimes agates occur with gold / silver deposits.
Hi. I recently was in my fenced in compound backyard yard on a bug hunt. I caught a spider and accidentally put it in the same jar as my gold collection. My jar is fogging up. Im worried about my jar that the breath will make it crack and my gold might get webs on it what do i do. What do i doooo
I found a rock and drilled holes in it. The dust has gold pieces in the dust with diamonds and the dark grayish spots on it I drilled holes and the inside is also the same darkish grey that looks like platinum. I need to send you pictures is there away I can reach you

There was a time long time ago where there was dirt floors and they used urine to tan clothes . And poor people would sell their urin in a pan to the tanning guy. Hence so broke didnt have a pan to do this now future advance have rose and we can pan gold
I have to laugh, the more I know actually means the less I know.Yes I can tell a "rock"from something of value. But many books later in general I still guess at what I have. Yes I do find good gems ,by accident. Good stuff you just know. 4y later still a rookie rock hound. 😂

Hi, in northern Ontario by Dryden you think there could be any gemstones? I love gemstones.
I live in the western USA and have never been to Ontario. So, do some research on Ontario with Google.

Alright that sounds fair😅@@ChrisRalph
you have a very interesting channel ... I used to have a rock collection when I was a young guy.
Glad you like the channel.

@@ChrisRalph In placer, the mixing of different deposits together is always a possibility

Flush the spider out with water.

To be pedantic gold is not heavy it is DENSE.
And you notice that I said both dense and heavy in my discussion. Still you do win the pedantic comment of the week award. 🏆
You nailed it
When you find diamond do you take it to the government ?
Not in the USA. However, I don't know what country you live in.
You don't say anything tiny
There was a time long time ago where there was dirt floors and they used urine to tan clothes . And poor people would sell their urin in a pan to the tanning guy. Hence so broke didnt have a pan to do this now future advance have rose and we can pan gold
Panning gold is good 👍

It takes time to learn, we all learn a little bit at a time.
@ChrisRalph I will get your books as more knowledge can't hurt. I told myself not to get gold fever...lol
What are the best gemstones to find in Alabama? I know of placer gold in places and flakes in the creeks but gemstones I am curious about
There are lots of gemstones to find in Alabama. Use Google to search for more specific information on places, types of stones available, etc.
Could you consider copper-nickel and PGM..??
What do you think I should "Consider them as ... "?
