Wow, SAN Martin really pulled the Rabbit out of the hat with this one. I may be tempted. Not sure how long you have been on RUclips, but I have only just found you and have subscribed....Looking forward to more videos. A nice review.
Thanks for the feedback, it is much appreciated. I've been on RUclips for about a year now, learning a lot and hopefully improving my production values along the way. I was never a fan of the calipers and white gloves approach so my channel is just my honest opinion on watches that interest me. Hopefully presented in a way that like minded folk will appreciate. Thanks for the sub, it really does mean a lot Cheers
I was about to pull the trigger on the Subby homage when I saw this video. Right now all the 62Mas versions say 200m on the dial as well as in the description.
Theree used to be a version Branded LHM. i LIKED. . i seen them on ebay last year. They came with a burgundy dial and other colors . But the difference was the bracelet had a Riveted Bracelet adding to the Vintage Motif . It came with a Lumed Bezel and all the other bells & whistles . They were priced about $270.00. I was just trying to find them again and can't. I may check this seller you used out. I like the fact they send Pic's of the watch.
IIRC there are still some LHM branded watches on the Lugyou store, although i don't think the 62 Mas is one of them. They will do you a custom dial, so you could have anything you want.
I posted this comment on the "1 week review" follow up, but it might be more appropriate for this video which compares v1 and v2. Funny thing, it may have been me chatting with San Martin support that resulted in this v3. I was inquiring about the hex logo version, and a day or two later, they pointed me to this new listing, lol Check out the new V3: www.aliexpress.com/item/4001349510742.html - Keeps the V1 dial which is truer to the SLA017, along with the awesome sunburst grey dial. Instead of the plain black dial of v2 - Adds the red traffic light second hand of v2. Not true to the SLA017, but I love it and prefer it. - Sticks with the 120 click bezel and drilled lugs, that all the newer versions of this watch have - Adds "SAN MARTIN" signing on the buckle clasp. Awesome! Plain-jane clasp bothered me before. - And the cherry on top..... 3D hexagon San Martin logo on dial. "SAN MARTIN" word font on dial always did nothing for me. Looked unbalanced, and the font looked cheap. I was already looking for the old v1 versions with the printed Hex logo.... and now this with a 3D logo. Prayers answered, order in!
I have a small 6.5" wrist, and I think it wears fine. I don't want anything much bigger which is why I sold by SBDC063. The lugs on this do curve down a bit which helps
And this is not a lollipop in the second hand, it is called a shovel hand and it was copied from a french brand called Yema when Seiko bought it in the 70 .
Thanks for the info, very helpful. Whatever it's called, it's very pretty!!! I guess many design elements have been copied and re copied over the decades. Some of the most popular watches in the world are not entirely original. Thanks for watching and commenting.
I haven't tried a nato, but don't find it too heavy on the bracelet. But yes, these are great watches at a great value Thanks for watching and commenting
That would be a crazy expensive upgrade. The bracelet on this is good, apart from being tricky to resize. Once that's done it's a quality looking and feeling bracelet. My advice would always be to pick up the bracelet version Thanks for watching and commenting
What is the maximum wrist size that this watch and bracelet will fit with the clasp set to the maximum size setting. I ask this as both this San Martin 62 MAS and the version 2 Submariner from San Martin Claim the bracelet will fit up to 8.5 inch in the Specs. Yet when I read the reviews from owners on the Officisl San Martin Seller on Ali Express the owners say they have either a 7.75 inch or 8 inch wrist and the bracelet barely fits with the clasp set at the largest setting . So there are no more adjustments in case their wrist swells in the Summer Heat. Any comments from owners of this watch with. 7.85 or 8 inch wrist size?
This bracelet is a pig to resize, so I'm not going to put the links back in to confirm.. but.. I removed 3 links and have the micro adjust at half way. My wrist is 6.5". So my guess would be 7.5" with all the links in place and 8" maximum on the micro adjust. You could try sending Lugyou store a message, I found them to be extremely helpful. Thanks for watching and commenting
@@WTMS1 I got in touch with the Official San Martin Store and the Sales Person replied back and said to order two extra links . I have a 8 inch wrist and want a slightly lose fit and do not want to put the clasp on the last setting. I like to have some extra slots in case my wrist swells.
I am ordering this watch but I want to let all know that Steel Dive just came out with their own 62mas version. Called “Steel Dive SD1962” Similar watch but 42 mm diameter bs 40 mm for San Martin. I prefer 40mm so went with San Martin. Price of steel dive is $150 on Alibaba but no bracelet. They say the lug width is 20 mm do one could buy the San Martin bracelet for that watch or buy another bracelet.
There are a few different versions. Heimdallr being another. Comes down to what you want on the dial (logo/brand) and strap options i guess (oh, and price) I can't comment on the others, but i was very happy with the service from Lugyou. I'd gladly but from them again. Good luck with the buying process and enjoy your new watch!
Great video :-). I agree, watch looks superb and I prefer the look over Version 1. A strong consideration. Btw - quick side question, where did you get that strap for your Citizen? Cheers.
Thanks for the positive feedback, it is greatly appreciated. The strap is a black canvas on leather with grey stitching from Geckota (Watch Gecko). It's a good strap - but it does have a tendency to fray near the lugs & buckle. Pass a lighter flame over it for a second sorts it out, but it is a frustration
@@WTMS1 Thanks for that - just bought another Tropical rubber strap from them last week - I'll go and have another look :-) Subscribed to the channel - so keep those video's coming!
The package was marked at a lower dollar value. I had to pay a customs fee, but not the full VAT amount on the actual value off the watch. Different countries deal with this stuff differently though. It's not Lugyou charging, it is the local tax/revenue. My advice when ordering stuff over the charge threshold is to expect to pay the full amount, and then it's a nice bonus if something slips through.
