- Health Benefits of Cacao Powder Nutrition How to Prepare Cacao Powder
Originally domesticated in South America about 5,000 years ago, cacao trees can now be found in equatorial regions around the world. The beans from these trees are harvested to make both cocoa powder and its lesser-known counterpart, cacao powder.
Cacao beans develop flavor and texture through a fermentation process before heading for processing into either cacao or cocoa powder. To create cocoa powder, processors apply very high temperatures to the cacao beans, which produces that smooth, sweet taste that people enjoy in baked goods or hot cocoa. Cocoa powder is less bitter than cacao, but it loses some of its nutritional value during processing.
Cacao beans destined to become cacao powder and cacao nibs aren’t roasted at these high temperatures. Instead, they’re processed at low temperatures and then milled into a powder. Cacao powder is quite bitter, but retains more of the bean’s original nutritional value.
Cacao powder can be a healthier alternative for recipes that call for cocoa powder.

Does this contain heavy metals like cadmium and lead? Recent reports states that dark chocolate contains levels of heavy metals.
That's a great question, I had read that also but I think it was just certain chocolate from certain places which I believe has already been fixed. I've read articles about rice being the same way It's like little sponges that suck up all the toxins in the soil 😭
I like to eat oats too in a red studies that the spray that they spray on them is harmful, I don't know what to do in this world it seems like there's so many different things that can get us.
@John Daniels I just read cacao powder carry the highest concentration of heavy metals. It's made by essentially concentrating the solids of the cacao bean and removing the oils (known as cacao butter). I don't know what to eat anymore:(
@@highsiderider "Heavy metals are found in a long list of common food items, like leafy greens, nuts, seeds, and many fruits. The healthy body is adept at removing these metals through a complex and highly evolved detoxification system that sorts, tags, and eliminates heavy metals through our body’s waste pathways. We can support these processes by eating a diet rich in micronutrients and fiber, both of which are abundant in cacao."
Some company hire famous writer to downgrade or upgrade some foods (in this case cocoa)
was that cold
why must add sweetener n milk that won't be a healthy drink though !
You're right, you could substitute the sweetener and milk for something else. Maybe almond milk would be healthier.
Sup John
I loved your vid so much. I've been trying to research for video like yours that informs the stuff in this RUclips vid! 🧑⚕️Your lesson totally is like the channel from Doctor Ethan. Doctor's demonstrations are actually educational and he helped me a lot on my exams. He is the most knowledgable health enthusiast in the UK and he talks about mental health and diseases.
