What I percieve is that the world is largely hostile towards creativity and the imagination. Even institutions which portend to support the arts. What they really desire is to reduce it to a series of moralisms and commodities. Something which can be understood and thus controlled. Creativity, however, isn't logical, and it doesn't reflect the world as it is. Creativity burns from within, is illogical and spontaneous, and is reflective of a metaphysical madness.
My husband is the most curious person I’ve ever met. It’s one of the many things I absolutely adore about him because I think it is one of the most admirable traits someone could have and I desire to have the same curiosity. I, on the other hand, have little curiosity. It has grown over the years, but I’m nowhere near where I want to be. Even my husband doesn’t understand how I can’t be that curious lol I really think it is the school systems and striving towards passing grades through memorization rather than absorbing information and taking the time to actually learn. It’s become a habit and I’m breaking it, slowly but surely.
