The iconic Malibu Pier was originally built in 1905. It contains some shops, restaurants, and a great place for fishing, strolling and people-watching.

I’m glad to see the public enjoying the pier ..I was one of the carpenters on the reconstruction of this pier . Worked along side the pile drivers and wrapped the piles with fiberglass laced with Kevlar to prevent rotting of the wood , set all the beans, Joyce’s , deck boards and railing , I also did the scuba diving on this project for the removal of the old piles .one of the best jobs I’ve ever been on.... proud to have been part of it 🤗

When I lived in Malibu's oceanfront, my gal and I would take a short to the Malibu pier and dine at "Alice's Restaurant" at the entrance of the pier, greatest olde hippie eatery, now closed, but NOT forgotten, "those were the good olde days" as the song goes.........
A few years back, we missed Malibu Pier and beach as we drove too quickly on the Pacific Coast Hwy. It's just like if we were there, thanks for posting.

Ok, WWT, I just have to post, again lol, on this video especially. I havent seen the end of this pier since 1972! lol Oh my gosh! My first summer job was on this pier, working on a Charter fishing boat named the Lenbrooke! THE BEST and most FUN job I ever had in my life! EVER! lol Oh my gosh, the stories! Rock cod( beware of the spines), Halibut fishing just to name some. The Hollywood Colony, Paradise Cove, occasional celebs & unknown millionaires went out for full day fishing. Baiting hooks for folks, out on the deck when I wasnt really supposed to, but it was all good with the Skipper. :) THANK YOU THANK YOU THANK YOU! For bringing back such awesome memories! Im going to try to call the Pier, and see if anyone knows what happened to the Lenbrooke, if they still have all day fishing going on. :) THANK YOU AGAIN FOR SUCH AN AWESOME VIDEO! :)

Love these videos. I live at the jersey shore and our beaches are nothing like these. We have to pay to park and pay to get on the beaches.Plus, the weather here is only good a few months out of the year. I cannot wait to move to California. so beautiful and love the sound of the waves. I could listen to this all day and see people going abt their daily lives at the beach. thanks for the awesome video
Check out Zuma Beach if you're in the Malibu area - much more wide open than this and parking is a little easier. They have an easy trail around the sea cliff where they filmed Planet of the Apes (where they had the Statue of Liberty) Around the pier is impossible to park most of the time for free. And they showed the valet parkng there you pay for but I'm not sure how much that is, never did it.
Weather is usually great but can get hot in Southern California. Due to not having a lot of rain fall, there is a chance of brush fires spreading out in fall - if you watch the video, you can see a lot of the brown dry brush that was a superbloom earlier in the spring. I'd heavily recommend you drive along the coast, it's such a beautiful drive from south to north.

Just drive on Pacific Coast Highway (PCH 1) and park beside the pier. It's only 11 miles from Santa Monica Pier.

@@WindWalkTravelVideos Thank you so much!! Oh yes, also heavily suggest Solstice Canyon, they have a burnt out house you can walk through. Easy hike that should be friendly to a camera rig.
Zuma Beach area: you can have an easy few minute climb to the sea cliff by going south along the beach. Very beautiful view.
Leo Carrillo: has a sea cave that is accessible sometimes depending on tide. Also has an easy 1-2 hour loop hike along the hills across the Pacific Coast Highway. Good view to turn around and see the Pacific Ocean.

Malibu is definitely not the same in person. The city looks dead , the streets look trashy, and the buildings look washed out.
