It was an honor and a joy to join you and the crew for these streams, and my absolute pleasure to be able to provide a happy surprise and help with your Hades fight. While we don't know what will come with and after Endwalker, thank you for sharing your time, your friends, and your journey with me on this. (That goes for all of you in the squad, too!)
It has been amazing to follow you through all this and it is wonderful to see someone who reacts similarly and yet different to how I did with the story. And this was a good conclusion. Now all I can say is... Enjoy Endwalker and post the post-Shadowbringers when you're able without compromising new experiences.
Oh, I just remembered, someone uploaded a Hades fight with one sprout and everyone else cosplaying the Scions and Artbert's team. Towards the end they intentionally almost wiped the group then the Minfilia cosplayer did a LB3 to bring everyone back, it was epic.
Even after doing this multiple different times I got goosebumps when ardbert pulls out his axe. This was such a fun playthrough I'm glad to be one of the lucky ones who got to experience it from the beginning!!!
The more I watch the ending the more I catch things and get more attached. IT'S SO GOOD. So thankful you chose to come along on my journey. Thank you Noa!
@@ChaoZzBladexI finished 5.0 a week ago and Emet's death destroyed me. I don't cry often, yet while I quietly listened to that Amaurot dungeon music, I would just sit there and sob. Happened several times. He was such a tragic antagonist and despite being at odds over a moral dilemma, I just wanted to give that lonely man a hug, which he probably wouldn't accept, because I'm too sundered, lol.
Couple of important things to point out about Emet-Selch's names. The Emet-Selch part was the title he had as a member of the Convocation, whereas Hades was his true name. 1) The "Emet" bit comes from Hebrew and means "Truth". It's actually an important bit of the Jewish mythology with the golem. Basically, "Emet" was written (either on a tablet inserted into its mouth or written on its forehead) on the golem, which gave it life. In order to stop the rampaging creature, someone had to get up and erase the first symbol and change it to read as "Met". The Hebrew word "Met" translates to English as "Death", which is rather fitting for someone who was named Hades. 2) The "Selch" part doesn't actually exist in Hebrew. IF it is supposed to be something in Hebrew, there are two possibilities. "Shelach" translates to "Your", or it could be "Selah" which could translate to "To Forgive". 3) That would make the possible interpretations for "Emet-Selch" be "Your Truth"/"Your Death" OR "Forgiven Truth"/"Forgiven Death". Considering how the Sin Eaters were usually named "Forgiven _______" and that Emet-Selch was involved in creating Vauthry, I like to consider that "Selch" was created by combining "Shelach" and "Selah". ==== I could be forgetting something, but I don't believe that Emet-Selch ever actually tells a lie. The only time in which he lies is at the moment in which Ardbert rejoins with us and there is a bright flash of light. At that point Emet-Selch sees a brief glimpse of us in our unbroken Ancient form. His dialogue at that point is "Bah! Just a trick of the light! You are a broken husk, nothing more!" I do think it's interesting that at that point where Emet-Selch lies to himself about what he saw, he also reveals his true name of Hades. It's like he is deliberately altering the "Emet" (Truth) part of his title to "Met" (Death), like in the Jewish story of how the golem is defeated.
In the case of Emet's reaction to seeing us in our "Unsundered" form, I believe it's more of a case that he didn't want to believe that we were who he originally knew us as, since prior to the Sundering, we were his best friend. He didn't want to believe that his best friend of all people would be the one standing against him trying to stop him from completing his "Duty". I see it as him being in denial more than him knowingly or intentionally lying. But yes, overall, Emet-Selch always seemed to speak the truth when conversing with us & the Scions, and he was genuinely trying to find some common ground with us, which to me makes him worthy of respect just by itself, since even though it ultimately didn't work out, he at least made the attempt. And that is more than can be said for other Ascians like Nabriales & Lahabrea (the only other Ascian who may once have tried to find common ground with us would have been Elidibus).
@@ericbright1742 Ever since Heavensward, I'm always happy to have Alphinaud in the party with me(though he sometimes drove me crazy in ShB). It's taking Endwalker to make me finally like his sister. I still skip her cutscenes on alts in previous content.
@@JustinStrife I actually liked Alisaie, increasingly so in the lead-up to Shadowbringers, considering how hard it was hitting her in particular to watch helplessly as all of the other Scions began to inexplicably collapse, one by one. Especially once Gaius brought us the unresponsive body of Alphinaud. That's why, at the start of Shadowbringers, I actually went to reunite with Alisaie first, because I was concerned about her mental state more than any of the other Scions, as I was sure Alphinaud could handle himself just fine until I was done in Ahm Araeng. The Scion I was *least* worried about was Y'shtola (she could probably kill a Primal by herself using nothing but that sharp tongue of hers) followed by Thancred.
@@gamester512 A lot of people like her. And I know I'm in the minority. I'd leave her behind every chance I got. Playing through the story with alts hasn't changed my mind any. I hate her character type.
@@JustinStrife Fair enough. I just view her flaws as a consequence of her technically still being a "child", considering the fact that neither twin is anywhere near the normal height for an Elezen, so I just figure she's in her "teen" phase, while Alphinaud simply happens to be more mellow and laid-back compared to Alisaie. For all we know, she may mellow out heavily once she's gotten a bit older. Or maybe it's the fact that she's a Red Mage, which is my main Job (though I'm also dabbling in Sage).

Your reactions here are fantastic. I love seeing how invested Shadowbringers makes us with the Scions, and the characters who are introduced this expansion. It does such a great job at it, and the reaction to seeing Thancred burst through and pin Hades with the white auracite always highlights that connection triumphantly. Really enjoyed seeing how you reacted to it! Looking forward to seeing your further journeys in the game.
Honestly when I saw this moment for the first time I totally didn’t think it was other players being summoned, or the other remaining parts of our sundered soul. I honestly thought G’raha Tia was summoning other Warriors of Light from other games like Squall, Cloud, Lightning, etc. because they’ve done that kind of thing before and it wouldn’t of surprised me at all
I've never watched someone run Amaurot so I never noticed all the details. The destruction after that building and tower fall with all of the chaos going on behind it. That boss in the background. Pure atmosphere and that music! I'm thinking we'll see more chaos on that scale with the final days coming to Eorzea. Maybe something similar to Dynamis from FFXI. Also, y'all killed it with the intro!
This is the first time I've watched this scene since finishing Endwalker and I'm grateful to the team for taking the creative risks here in Shadowbringers that let them push the boundaries of what stories they could tell in their medium. To think you did this almost a year ago!

Emet's "Remember us. Remember that we once lived" is what always makes me ugly cry. Shame that the scene seemed to confuse you but yeah, that's why it's so belived among fans. Awesome playthrough. Loved it.
Yeah. In that moment, he accepted his defeat with dignity, and he was content that the world(s) would be in good hands with people like us around to watch over them. So long as he and his people were not forgotten, he was content to finally give up on his "duty" and allow himself to finally rest.
The moment when the theme song hits and everything after is just beyond anything I have ever seen in a video game. Then comes 5.3... which hits totally different

probably not a coincidence as JRPG often imply to fight gods or such entity. Final Fantasy & Shin Megami Tensei are the kings in this case.
To me, that scene on the beach perfectly encapsulates the twins:

The dynamic between those two is always either "I'll help you hide the body," or "Do not even breathe in my direction."
There is no in-between.
