Great to see an Indian psychologist talking about narcissism! People should know about narcissistic personalities. In real life there are more narcissist people whom we have to deal with ,both at office and at family .Spreading such knowledge is very rare in India. Keep up the good work .

I have been dealing with this personality disorder for the past 15 years and finally had to let him go after he cheated on me and blamed me for the divorce. Rightly put, its a disorder that cannot be treated with any kind of treatment. The only way to set yourself free from the daily abuse and mental and emotional torture is to let go and never look back.
    5 WAYS TO DEAL WITH
    A NARCISSIST:
    1. Stay away.
    2. Don't try to convince them they're
    wrong. Stay away.
    3. Don't try to "fix" them. Stay away.
    4. Don't argue with them. Stay away.
    “JUST STAY AWAY”

When I left the father of my son, the only way I found I could protect myself and my sanity, was cutting off all verbal communication. I did that after one month. He would talk to me, when I went to get my son for example and I would ignore him completely. I would only reply on written communication when the message was about my son. I even reverted to using Mr + his last name, to keep my communication short, polite and distant. He had already pushed his first wife to suicide. I was not willing to give him that kind of power over my life. Stay away and don't ever speak to them again. They are a level of toxic that empaths (their favourite victims) are not equipped to deal with. Everything you will say to them, will be used against you. Love from Belgium and stay safe.

I wanted a video on narcissists. Thanks alot . I was also dealing with the narcissist person. Few things I can highlight here are
    1. This people tend to look more attractive or they purposely try to show off themselves as attractive.
    2. Attention is like a source of life for them.
    3. Superiority
    4. Show themselves as they care alot about feelings of other people.
    5. Self obsessed
    6. Makes other person feel guilty for each and every things they do.
    7. A big liers. These type of persons tend to lie at any level to showcase themselves as 'GOOD PERSON'
    8. They never accept their mistakes.
    9. Never apologise, instead make other person apologise for their own mistakes.
    10. They want full control over their children/wife/gf/brother etc.
    11. Their favourite job is brain washing
    12. Sex is the priority for them. They don't indulge in emotional or romantic relationship.
    13. They want new supply everyday.
    14. Egoistic
To get out from narcissistic abuse, the one must stay away or disconnect with them emotionally.
I know its difficult to let them go from life but its not impossible too.

All the points go to my father. Everything has to be under his control. I can't forget all those unfortunate events, made my mother in panic mode all the time. Accusing and shouting for no reason. After my marriage, I found my happiness. I still try to forgive him but I can't.

  • @madhurimabasak7168

My father has always had a very high sense of ego. Nobody knows more than him, never ready to consider opinions of his children. Throughout my childhood he and my mother kept fighting and never thought of what is going on inside us. He can never apologize, always somebody else has to come and apologize otherwise he won't eat. My mother too has become somewhat like him, she too never thinks she can do anything wrong. I think living with a narcissist also makes u a narcissist. With all these in the family, I don't keep any expectations from anyone and I always keep myself first and think of my wellbeing. On the other hand I fear becoming a narcissist myself by always keeping myself first.

Also trying to explain to them is another mistake. None of these will work. They have such deflated ego that they can't see anything other than themselves.

If you are still in school or college, just hang in there and do your best. As soon as you are capable, try to find a job and be independent. When you have a narcissistic parent, being financially independent is the most important thing. Eventually you will learn to set boundaries and how to deal with them. More power to you.

I used to break my head why why and why .. am happy am over it now .. l moved with my two children when it crossed the limit and now he lives with us .. earlier we lived with him. There's a lot of difference in both the sentences experientially.... I've fought for myself. I have very strong boundaries now .. we coexist and am very happy in my own life though he still nags and complains. Cos am not waiting for his validations anymore ... 👍 Am in peace with myself. And that's the best feeling.

I am very happy to come across this as I may have had to deal with it for years only realising it was something else than a relationship problem or a women thing. By the time I see this video I have already figured out on my own how to deal with it but awareness would have helped do so earlier maybe. However key is accepting that you are not at fault. This is the first time I saw content with a name to the situation. Felt sad that there is no solution for the abuser who is suffering mentally. I am still married but instances of abuse are reduced but mildly a part of life. I try to not let it affect me beyond the moment. For the children this is also difficult as they don't understand the mood swings of the mother. That part I need more inputs on

If one of your parents is a narcissist, please when meeting someone new, do not mistake butterflies and nervousness for love. The feeling of butterflies and nervousness is actually your gut instinct warning you that this person is not right for you. We more often then not, choose a partner that has the same traits as the parent that never aknowledged or loved you. We will fall for a person with same personnality, because it feels familiar and we feel we get a chance to change the outcome, but it will not. It is a recepy for failure and it will impact your wellbeing for decades to come. It will ruin your life and prevent you from living your best life.
Feeling love for a person should feel like a warm blanket. You should feel at ease being yourself, you should feel supported and protected, calm and relaxed (men and women alike). That is love. I took the time to write this for the young ones on this channel, that have yet to start their life and choose a partner. If you feel nervous and butterflies around a love interest... run. If you feel like you cannot tell everything about your love interest to family or friends ... run before you have children. If you got married, take your birthcontrol pills (women) or use condoms (men) religiously for at least a year, if not 2 years. The last thing you want to do is have kids and submit those innocent children to a life of psychological abuse.
    Love from Belgium.

My mom in law is a narcissistic she all the time blames me for everything. And she shows me bad human being to my husband. And he every time feels that I am a very bad person. If she is not in the house in advance she plan something that she can talk bad things about me to my husband. And on those days when she not around still my husband's behaviour gets worst and worst. I have severe neck pain and a cyst in brain and can't work as before but still she tells my husband that I am acting. Now I am tired what to do?
    I m financially dependent.

maine kuch din pahle narcissist mother k bare me pada tha, usme narcissist ka matlab tha ke jab ek mother apne childern me partiality karti h, kisi ek kid ko jyada pyar aur dusre ko neglect karti he to usko narcissist kahte he.
apka video dekhane k baad lag raha he meri mom narcissist h, me apne parents ki 5th girl child hu, meri mom muje kabhi accept nahi kar payi. meri third aur fourth no sis mom ladli thi kyuki wo sirf mom ki baat manti thi, mom ke close hone ka karan meri third no sister bhi narcissist ho gai wo mujse waise hi treat karti jaise meri mom karte he. its been 14 year i got married now but meri mom n sis abhi bhi waise hi he, me preshan hoke last 5-6 years se dono se baat karna band kar diya he, last year corona se mere father ki death k baad ab meri mom meri sis ko mere ghar bhejti h, ab unko aisa lag raha he ke sis's ko pyar se rahna chahiye. meri sis mere ghar aati he muje depression hone lagta he.... i feel haunted k agar meri sis ghar aa jayegi..... maine to sabke cell no bhi block kar rakhe he.

most of narcissistic people among indians, its the MOTHERS, but duto our social and culture and religion we give toomuch importance to mother even if she is sick in the head, and deny that she is wrong, this destroies family and the love.

it may feel like that, bcz when you're living with someone close/in your family who is a narc, their dysfunction OVER TIME causes you to lose your sanity, balance and authentic nature also. bcz each time you suffer at their hands, you HAVE TO FIND A WAY to not feel that shitty, so in defense you become "tit for tat, how they treat me, i'll treat them same way", simply coz you don't know that they're dysfunctional and how to handle it.

See agar tm khudko narcissist smjti ho to tm nai ho waisi. Narcissist log kbhi v accept nai krenge wo narcissist h, kabhi v nai. Thore boht traits match krte isliye khudo waise smjne lge. Relationships mei apne faults accept kro and apologize then learn from those mistakes, aise hi sb thik hoga.
