Healing is so cool & easy! Thanks for the informative video. Tried to figured it out on my own, but it wasn't clear. Never used layers before (in the 'PP should be used sparingly' school), but I have this annoying dust spot on my IR camera's sensor. (Yes, I know I should clean the sensor.)
Wondering if it's a bad habit to use the "spot removal" tool ('o' shortcut) in C1 23 instead of using the heal tool. For small spots on the skin, the "spot removal" is so fast and accurate...
I'd really appreciate the option/button to force C1 to take another guess at a new area to source from. After a year of using C1 I still think the LR has a slighty better math under the hood and this would help a lot. By the way, (as a Windows user) I get horrified anytime David says "Delete button". There were exactly 3451 cases of me pulling the pic out of C1's trash only 'cause I thought the delete button deletes an ACTIVE point/gradient/brush. No your poor little former LR users - me. In 99% of times it trashes the photo but in two or three cases - like here - It actually deletes the ACTIVE soure point :D Consistency, for crying out loud! :D
I'm brand new to layers, healing and cloning and while this got me started, but when I try to get a second, separate heal layer, to work on something else, it doesn't work. I just get an adjustment layer and when I click on the heal tool it takes me back to the first heal work I did. Struggling to describe what's happening because it's all so new but not working as it appears to do in the video.
It's all easy and straightforward until you have something to clean near the very edge of the photo - good luck with figuring out how to drag those arrows, becoming invisible...
@Jack Warner Usually arises when you zoom in while using the healing brush and occasionally while using luminosity tool. It's very prevalent with Fuji RAF files but I do know of Canon users running into it as well. Problem is on both platforms, Mac and Windows. Started with V13.1.1 in the spring when the healing brush was introduced, it has not been fixed to date and was carried over to V-21. Capture One is well aware of the problem even if they don't fully admit it. Capture One Technical Facebook page is full of users running into it. If you don't have the problem then count yourself lucky because it is a pain in the butt.
Best photography Software thanks capture one

This is the V20 in the video, not the V21.
Hi Thomas,
The functionality for healing / cloning hasn't changed in 20 to 21. The content is still valid.
@@CaptureOne That's right, unfortunately the bug that causes pixelization when you zoom into 100% is still present in V-21. :-)
Thank you for staying alert, Barry! Please send us a ticket at support.captureone.com, so we can closely look into your case.
@@CaptureOne I already have.
