What also can be done is calculation the slope of each indicator and compare it to the price action slope, then, the obv and a/d can be comparable also in algo systems
If you look it the obv and ad you see there is a divergence at 7:36 shows the same result but in def spot look at the end of your green line and obv and ad there is RD - divergence just like mfi
Awesome video once again. I personally find and always use MF in my trading. I find that over sold/bought works well as long as its confluence with the larger TF. Divergences work really well and once again its a great warning for a direction change if seen on the larger TF and if its in an S and R area then that is an even great confluence factor.
I love this comparison. I use all these three volume indicators. I have seen OBV working in case of divergences. I like OBV the best. It simply never lies when there is an actual divergence. We can never say AD is better than OBV. Some times this works and sometimes that
Unfortunately, MFI doesn't work well with USDCAD on 8 hrs. Nine days and 566 pips later of MFI divergence, USDCAD finally turned around. I tried post a screen shot of the three, OBV,AD,MFI against USD/CAD 8 hrs., September 19th through September 28th, 2022. AD picked up the actual divergence correctly.
I have a rookie question. What gives when OBV and MFI diverge? OBV is increasing yet MFI is decreasing. I looked at the Slow stochastic and MACD and both were exiting the oversold region. Would OBV override MFI in this case? Thanks for your clear and concise explanations by the way. Your video has helped me make some $ on the short side riding the waves. Would you be kind enough to make a video on Fibonacci retracement?
An over simplification of the reasons for OBV and MFI divergence is that OBV essentially tracks cumulative change in volume over time(volume can be buying or selling either will increase volume) The MFI calculates a combination of volume and momentum so it will look more like the actual price chart.(Also MFI is range bound 0-100) so the price gets rescaled gradually to the 50. In my opinion these indicators work really well together. Use OBV to show significant volume and MFI to show "directional" volume. This one strategy to predict breakout from squeezes and ranging markets
Hi. I was wondering, due to the particular calculation method of these indicators, if it would be more appropriate to look for divergences on the charts based on the Japanese candlestick bodies or based on the wicks. I am asking this question because very often, in certain markets, the wicks can create a higher low or a lower high that does not exist on the candlestick bodies (thus in open/close). Really thanks by advance if you can take a little time to answer this Question
Please answer when you see this brother. I have looked all over the internet and I cannot find the answer. Are HIDDEN DIVERGENCES valid for MFI OBV and accu/dist indicators? I understand regular divergence can be used but please let me know for HIDDEN divergence. Thank you!!
You could, but remember the more indicators you use, the more likely you are to overfit to past data. I'd suggest trying each and then making a decision on which is best for your particular strategy then using that. But if you do try implementing your suggestion, let us know how you get on :)
I just watched this video, logged on my trading platform, opened AMD, opened bollinger bands and Money Flow Index, and made 22 bucks. Thanks Darwinex

Volume is really king 🤴 I used it today to take a profit instead of adding on like I wanted to
Excellent series on these indicators! Great detailed explanations along with application, well done!

Sir really no words to say, i appreciate you.
Thanks. I was wondering exactly these questions on which is the more telling indicator. I appreciate your side by side comparison. Very helpful.
Could you take a look at Klinger Oscillator and Chaikin Oscillator?
your explanation and clarity on comparision is commendable, thanks for sharing knowledge:)
Could you do Volume profile and Vwap videos ?

On 6:50, the divergence appears in the middle of the last two vertical green lines. (7AM 16 April). So what can we say?
thansk!! NOt clear to me if should I look for divergences on A/D at the close of the candle?
8:11 there's also hidden bullish divergence in the first section, according to MFI, and price does go up.
I found more signals on MFI than OBV and ADL. both hidden and normal divergence. But I'm not so sure about my market though.

My own personal view on this is that 'if' regular divergences are valid then so are hidden divergences - regardless of the oscillator. Martyn
i find Relative Volume the best volume based indicator for how i trade
Thank you for the clear explanation, very informative!
Martyn, what's your take on processing volume data, since it's broker specific?
awesome content
Good content!
What if we use rsi + mfi together. The best way to know price momentum

very clear, .. thankyu very much
What if your money flow is not range bound?
What if we try to identify divergences between (not price) these 3 indicators? (Mfi-a/d or obv-a/d or mfi-obv)
It's an idea! Let us know what results you obtain :)
Great video. Thanks.
Well done video.
Estaría muy bien una traducción, por lo menos con subtítulos de todos estos vídeos.
activa el boton subtitulos del video , al lado de configuracion
Nice one there
Awesome, Thank you :-)
Excellent!
Awesome thank you bro
I like MFI because it has 0 to 100 range.
