I've blood trailed hundreds of whitetail deer. There are no absolutes. Some say they won't go up hill well they sure will and do. Some say never push them well sometimes pushing them brings death to them before they can clot and stop the blood loss. Sometimes your darned if you do and darned if you don't. It can be a matter of inches or less inside the deer that determines how far and for how long they will go. Often, we do not know exactly what was damaged inside the deer. I you don't video then, always knowing where the arrow made initial contact on the deer is not possible. I don't see anything in this hunt to criticize. It was a bow hunt with events that happen on a lot of hunts all over North America. The two big things to learn here is never give up trying to find the animal and having respectful Coopertive relationships with neighbors is vitally important.
First off, keyboard warriors slow your roll. A lot of us go out alone and shoot deer with a bow. I don’t care how often. To go out and try to film yourself and know there’s tons of viewers watching you is a totally different ballgame. If you’re not doing that, keep your mouth shut. 2nd, incredible hunt Clinton and that right there shows all the reasons why the hunting community is awesome. Loved the story and the lessons. Great job 3rd, shout out to JZ. I’m about to turn 40 and I was getting out of shape from some lazy habits. JZ I think it was a pinch point podcast you talked about something similar last year and did a 75 Hard. New Year’s Day I did the same thing and today is day 75. I’m 20lbs lighter and in the best shape I’ve been in in 4 years. So thanks for the inspiration
Have you not been watching the show for the last few years???? Ok I’ll wait.. go back and watch his hunts and how many questionable shots he has taken that he thought he could make and made a bad shot… he got the deer but this show has become a joke!!!
Amazing deer! I also don't wanna be negative... judging by your piece of paradise you can obviously afford a burris oracle. I'm a broke mechanic raising a family competing with everyone on public ground and I bought one. Ditch the hand held rangefinder already bro! My effectiveness with my heat of the moment shots went through the roof when I got mine.
Congratulations to Clint!! No the shot wasn’t perfect, but kudos to him for sticking to it and tracking that beautiful buck down! How many others would have quite long before the 1.5 mile tracking job after almost 24hrs. Great job!!
Great Buck! I’m not the best by any means judging on the hoof, but that almost looks like a younger buck around 4 at the most. lol ok now that I saw the last bit of the video I now know he was 4. At least I guessed right. Congrats on a great buck.
As I watch this video about a buck, I'm reminded that it's only a few hours from now and the Spring Gobbler season opens here in my part of north Florida. Saturday morning on 03/16.
After all the "ranging" and that's the shot you made? It's just my opinion but I think you are relying on that range finder too much and believe it's interfering with your concentration because I heard you clicking it over and over every time the deer moved. I bow hunted for 40 years and only used one vertical pin and no range finder. I honed my skills at self-ranging, but I also shot a bow that got 275 fps, which helped eliminate some of the guess work out to 30 yards. Anything past 30 yards, I knew exactly how high to hold the pin but I also tried to limit my range at 40. Not relying on range finders, honing your skills at self-ranging, using one pin, and knowing how your bow shoots will give you more time to focus on your shots and eliminate a lot of unnecessary movement as well. That said, I'm glad you found him and applaud your efforts in the recovery process.
Buck fever man. I don’t know. I only have my phone to replay it on, but your arrow flight looks weird in the other angle. It looks like you hit high and left but in the subsequent angle it showed that it hit low and right I don’t know if you just pulled it or what. The arrow flight seemed weird, the trajectory looks like it was headed in a different direction. Hard to convert on those plays right there adrenaline levels and camera stress. I have tried to video countless months, and I always abandon my camera or forget to turn on.
No disrespect intended, but I’m wondering how many poor and marginal shots are made when self-filming. When the camera shot takes priority over the bow shot, there are going to be mistakes made. Just an observation that I’ve made over the last decade.
Don’t want to be negative, but I would like to post some constructive criticism. You ranged that deer too many times and he wasn’t even moving but a couple steps. You overthought the shot. Then didn’t take a quarter away shot while the deer was still. Just pressing too much in my opinion
Where do you get these guys man like come on man? He’s not an archer. He’s someone that wants to be in archer but he doesn’t do all the necessities to be in archer he doesn’t train. He doesn’t practice nothing.

Great video. That had to be a gut wrenching 24 hours. Glad you were able to run him down. He’s a great buck!
Great buck and recovery. Congrats!

Nice job finishing what you started. You did the right thing with that type of hit. Great buck.
Great buck and great job keeping on him!
Don't listen to all these haters Clinton. I've been a big fan of yours for years. You always put down the biggest giants on this team. Love ya.
Heck yeah Fawc you are da man
Is Tom Alford still with the show haven't seen him on it lately
Has his own show now. I believe he commented on this video.

Awesome Buck congrats man!!!
Lucky duck! Great buck. Congrats. Just wonder why you use mechanical heads? I used to live in IL. What county. I'm in Ohio now. Good hunting.

That’s what I was thinking but during the rut deer can lose a lot of mass

He's definitely a stud
I was fully expecting a "texas heart shot" or extreme quartering away shot....lol

Ranged him 97 times still made a bad shot… Jesus
Typical shot for you in the past few years. Lucky. That is one of the biggest 4 1/2 year olds I’ve ever seen. He would’ve been a MEGA GIANT!!
hunting out of a house and still mess up a broadside shot.

This had nothing to do with self filming….
Bring back breaking point
