I think the main reason that Kotobuki Drugs is open in LAD's prologue is that it's set in 1999, whereas the main game is in 2017 iirc. Kotobuki Drugs is closed in 6, meaing it closed sometime between 5's end and Lost Judgement.

In every game, I always just search these places if there's any changes in Kamurucho: - Dojima Family Office - Club Sega (In both Nakamichi St. And Theater Avenue) - The former Real Estate Business in 0 - West Park (Purgatory) - Serena - Kotoboki Drugs - Champion District pubs
Damn, I really need to try this demo out! Been overdosing on DMC5 anyway. Also, for the Kotobuki Drugs thing, Idk why it came back, but the fact it's only present in the prologue of LAD is due to the timeline. It probably went under in 2010 or something kek. While some changes are questionable, I definitely love how meta they choose to go when developing their games.
Well if Kotobuki never came back it would not have been strange considering it was removed in 6 and the two games that take place in the timeline afterwards didn't have it. It was good by them too to have it in Kiwami 2 and the prologue of Like a Dragon because it kept it consistent. But now it's just back again lol like have you ever seen a business that leaves for, like, 5 years and then just comes back exactly how it was? Haha
@@SnowiestAngeman i mean there is also the weird inconsistentency with the gelato place from 1-4 being overwritten by the takoyaki place from 5 onwards until they just shut down, even more weird considering it overwrites the gelato place DURING k1 and 2

(Still Lost Don Quijote sponsorship tho...) Also kinda weird how in Lost Judgment they also talk about the Tojo disbanding. Similar but alternative timeline lol.
Yeah well it's similar to how some of the older games had Matsuya instead of Akaushimaru but I just would've thought they'd replace all Akaushimaru signs given that it's a fake brand so it doesn't need advertising haha

Sadly it will never be on PC because of Johnny's talent agencies strict policy where they're against the idea of altering the face of their stars which is Takuya Kimura (protag of Yagami). Basically, Johnny's don't want modders to change Yagami's face to Kiryu for example. I wish they'd set the game late December/early January so we can have snowy weather (despite snowfall being rare in Tokyo). Yakuza 2 had the faintest of snowfall and for some reason set the mood for me. (I'm not counting Tsukimino - snow over there is a given)
I just hope Mortal Injuries don't come back. Hated that status effect, especially when fighting bosses with guns. You can't even disarm them and there's no goons to use as human shields!
They are not back in Lost Judgment, although I believe bosses can cause you to bleed or something along those lines which I think will be caused by the same things as mortal wounds, but they can be healed easier. At least that's what I remember from reading one of the tips in the demo

I Think Another Thing To Take Note Of In The Demo Was That You Don’t See Many Children Walking Around Kamurocho Or Yokohama Or Any Other Japanese City Landmarks For That Matter Except That They Only Appear In Substories And Side Cases And Stuff Like That, I Feel Like If They Started Adding Like Family Civilians Into The Game Like Parents And Children, It Would Add A More Tourist Vibe To The Game, You Also Have The High School Kids Too As Well Which I Can’t Wait To Teach A Lesson To And I Am Also Pretty Happy That They Are Letting Girls And Women In The Yakuza And Judgment Series Be Expressed More, I’m Sorry For The Lack Of Context Here Man But There Is So Much Potential For Titles Like These In The Future!!!!!!!!! Nah I know what you're getting at. It's like how something like Yakuza 3 has a lot of very obvious tourists because you get some blonde American looking type of people, but most of the games afterwards just have Japanese people. It definitely made the streets feel more real, to say the least

They don't fix Shangri-La because if they were to do it it should be completely demolished and rebuilt. P.S. i got my ass handed by him once and yet to see him again
Having the closet being gone in Yagami's office is honestly a good story thing, and I would probably even call it attention to detail
An upgrade I noticed immediately was the animation work, be it parkour or the combat. It looks so damn smooth. Glad I got a PS5.
Im glad someone is covering this type of stuff, devileon did one video like this but I like this style better, I hope this channel gets bigger
Thank you very much :) although I feel like Devilleon7 makes videos targeted towards new players that wanna get into the games, whereas I try and make videos for people who are already fans but I do appreciate the comparison
thanks for uploading this. one aspect that i really love with yakuza games is its virtual tourism element, i spend hours on end just to look at what the hub world has to offer
An ijincho version of this video would be neat, I'd watch :)
I think the main reason that Kotobuki Drugs is open in LAD's prologue is that it's set in 1999, whereas the main game is in 2017 iirc. Kotobuki Drugs is closed in 6, meaing it closed sometime between 5's end and Lost Judgement.
I love the Kenzan reference in LJ that’s sick af that they did that😁
Yeah I was watching the ads to see which ones were new and I did the Leonardo DiCaprio meme where I pointed at the screen as soon as the Kenzan cutscene popped up haha
Hope they will remake kenzan after lj comes out
That Kenzan reference is probably proof that they want to release it and Ishin to the west but... Can't for some reason? Or they just don't want to.
They Likely Said A Few Months Ago With “Ghost Of Tsushima’s” Popularity That They Could Release The Samurai Titles In The Future But Considering We’re All Hoping For Yakuza 8 Next After This, A Lot Of People Speculate That Yakuza 8 Will Come Out In 2023, Cause That Seems Realistic To Them Apparently So If That Does Happen In The Future, Then Maybe We Can Get The Samurai Titles In 2022 Hopefully In The West, Trust Me, We All Wanna Play The Samurai Titles Badly And It’s Also Stated From “Ryu Ga Gotoku Studios” That Ishin And Kenzan Might Get Remakes, I Don’t Necessarily Think Ishin Needs A Remake But Kenzan Definitely Does And Imagine We Get The Remaster’s Of Samurai Games In The West Plus The Remakes Of Them, That Would Be 4x Times The Fun 🤩 And It May Never Happen But One Can Dream!!!!!!!!! In every game, I always just search these places if there's any changes in Kamurucho:
- Dojima Family Office
- Club Sega (In both Nakamichi St. And Theater Avenue)
- The former Real Estate Business in 0
- West Park (Purgatory)
- Serena
- Kotoboki Drugs
- Champion District pubs
Haha
@@SnowiestAngeman I'm sure that's a thing. I don't have any names on top of my hat, but pretty sure that happened with brands and/or people.

I think the Akaushimaru has to do with them getting sponsorship from Yoshinoya, they even replicated the real on in that location pretty much 1:1 in Lost Judgement. (Still Lost Don Quijote sponsorship tho...)
Also kinda weird how in Lost Judgment they also talk about the Tojo disbanding. Similar but alternative timeline lol.
Yeah well it's similar to how some of the older games had Matsuya instead of Akaushimaru but I just would've thought they'd replace all Akaushimaru signs given that it's a fake brand so it doesn't need advertising haha

Is it only me that thinks that Yakuza and judgment are incredibly underrated ? I just hope this year it has an 90+ on Metacritic so everyone would give the fame it deserves
I feel like it's because big name reviewers like IGN treat it like some generic SEGA product, or the "ha-ha funny meme game" even though they all are way more than that
So a huge hotel can get completely renovated in a year but Little Asia can't get renovated in 5 years? Come on

judgment is precious. i want this game be on pc
Sadly it will never be on PC because of Johnny's talent agencies strict policy where they're against the idea of altering the face of their stars which is Takuya Kimura (protag of Yagami). Basically, Johnny's don't want modders to change Yagami's face to Kiryu for example. Anyways, Takuya's actually fine with it and he actually enjoyed working with Sega but if he's on Sega side and the game releases on PC. Takuya will be fired from Johnny's and he will be blacklisted in any agency that he desires to join.

The game better have rainy weather
Agreed.
@@SnowiestAngeman Thank heavens. I can deal with slowly loosing health but having chunks of my life bar blocked off is ridiculous. I hope it's easier to find the items that heal it instead of having to haul ass to the north part of the map everytime.

I'm not completely familiar with law in Japan but I think you cannot make changes to the original floor plans of any soapland, doing so you risk losing your license to have one.
One example of a never repaired soapland is Queen Chateau in Ibaraki.
I watched this before playing Judgement and I wondered why would they just up an remove the cupboard? I saw no reason why it had to go, especially since they added nothing to replace it. After I played Judgement, I was able to think of a reason why it, uh... why it had to go.
