Normally though the only time they'll ever recast is if the actor does actually pass away or has some serious illness where they physically can't play the character. But there's examples like how Tanimura in Yakuza 4's actor quit acting due to a bunch of false controversy and rather than recasting him like they did in the remaster, they just cut Tanimura out of the rest of the series lol

4:42 Is technically unused on the pc/ps4/xbox relase of the game but this is actually a leftover from the PS3 JP ver. The Walkman was an item that you could get if you redeemed the DLC included with a Disc of "Ryu ga Gotoku 0 - 80's Hits! Collection" which contained a lot of 80s songs and some covers done by both Kiryu's and Majima's voice actors. Ingame it let you listen to these 80s japanese songs and the Main themes of the other games! Such as... -Recieve You (Yakuza 1) -As a man, As a brother (Yakuza 2) -Loser (Yakuza 3) -Butterfly City (Yakuza 4) -Start OF THE END (Dead Souls) -BLOODY MOON (Yakuza 5) -Clock Strikes (RGG: Ishin!) And if it wasn't awsome yet. They included "Bubble" the main theme of Yakuza 0 Sadly this dlc was never dumped and it can only be activated on RPCS3 (A PS3 Emulator)

The room he's in when he visits the soapland early in Y5 was re-used in Judgment. I'm not very far in to Judgment so can't comment on the other stuff though. Also, before the name Judgment, the game was known as "Project Judge" when it started development. Also, the Japanese name for the game is Judge Eyes.
Yeah project judge would make sense then. I also know it's Judge Eyes and then like shinigami no yuijin or something but all the files and that logo just said Judge so I was curious that's all

Nah the safes were actually introduced in Yakuza 6 but there were only like 10 of them. The likely scenario is that they got rid of them in Kiwami 2 because they had locker keys which were kinda the same purpose and then wouldn't have brought the safe finder back for Yakuza 7 because there are so many that it would make finding them trivial. There's instances like Phil in Kingdom Hearts 3 whose voice actor passed away, so they made him a mute (which was weird). Normally though the only time they'll ever recast is if the actor does actually pass away or has some serious illness where they physically can't play the character. But there's examples like how Tanimura in Yakuza 4's actor quit acting due to a bunch of false controversy and rather than recasting him like they did in the remaster, they just cut Tanimura out of the rest of the series lol
just wanted to say i really like your editing style. slick and satisfying and makes me pop a giggle when i see jpg of real japanese child
Dude, Heaven from Persona 4 gave me PTSD lol
It's a banger even though it plays in a not very banger part haha
1:38 i dunno if anybody said it already in the comments here but this image is actually in the game. It's in a substory
This is sick. The photo of ichiban and the lady is from one of the substories i think. The walkman is exclusive to the japanese only ps3 version of yakuza 0 i think as well.
Thank you :) and yeah someone pointed out the Ichiban and lady thingy and the walkman is upsetting because they never made it available elsewhere
You're doing gods work since ALOT of this shit is not on the cutting room floor
Thank you and also because everyone normally just goes "Wanna know anything about what's in the files for the game? Yes? Join the Yakuza modding Discord" lmao
Also the apartment at 13:20 you go in in a substory it was something about ghost hunting
Thank you for the clarification I was confused by it because what was actually used in case files and what wasn't was all very split apart in the files sometimes so I wasn't too sure what it was
4:42 Is technically unused on the pc/ps4/xbox relase of the game but this is actually a leftover from the PS3 JP ver.
Such as...
-Recieve You (Yakuza 1)
-As a man, As a brother (Yakuza 2)
-Loser (Yakuza 3)
-Butterfly City (Yakuza 4)
-Start OF THE END (Dead Souls)
-BLOODY MOON (Yakuza 5)
-Clock Strikes (RGG: Ishin!)
And if it wasn't awsome yet. They included "Bubble" the main theme of Yakuza 0
Sadly this dlc was never dumped and it can only be activated on RPCS3 (A PS3 Emulator)
superb editing as always
imma guess someone already commented the Mine model that’s in Kiwami’s files, that has different textures than any other Mine in the other games but if not there you go!
They have but it's fine it means more chances for people to see it in the comments
This is so calming
Nice vid
Thank you I'm glad you could enjoy it :)
1:41 hey ain’t that the sub story in which Ichiban meets a ghost and he doesn’t realise?
Is that what it was from? I did that but I didn't remember the photo
@@SnowiestAngeman if I remember you go to the arcade to do something fun, so you get your picture taken. He pulls it out at the end of the sub story and he only sees himself
@@nomadwhy1166 OHHHHHHHHH that makes sense
6:37 my god what a beautiful transition
1:46 it’s from a sub story (which is pretty sad and emotional 😭)
13:21 is used in a side case
Yeah the funny thing about the substory is that I think I've already done it but I'm just a monke who forgot lmao
@@SnowiestAngeman Monke
Dude your editing style is so good, you should do the rest of the games. loved the video tho!
Thank you very much :) I might do the rest but probably not for a while. It takes ages and I currently do not have the time hahaha
Be warned once you see it, you won't be able to unsee it. At 5:51 those people aee used as flat decals inside the elevator that goes up and down outside of the sega game centre at tenkaichi theater.
It is kind of cursed.
6:31 baccarat just got real
I'd be really interested in a dig into Yakuza 6's files itself. Onomichi reminds me way too much to Okinawa to not make me think that certain areas (specifically the mall in 6) likely shares models from that game.
I dunno if it does or not but they easily could've based some things in Onomichi off Okinawa considering the similarity of their settings as they're both more sorta rural settings rather than big bussling cities
This video is very hilarious for a slideshow of yakuza pics
Thank you haha
I reckon the images at 6:00, 6:17, and 5:56 (less sure on this one) are probably reflection maps for reflective surfaces, like metal or bottles?
The 6:00 one could be pretty likely but not sure about the other two. That could be the answer though
5:52 Correct me if I'm wrong but i saw those textures being used on an elevator that was part of the building of the Club Sega in Theater square.
Thanks for the lovely music you are amazing
Freakin’ mad lord bro! This is some next level quality content. Keep up the great work
Regarding 7:27, キャバ二人目 isn’t a name, it essentially means “second person of the cabaret”
By the way speaking of the controller images Nintendo switch pro controller buttons are in the game if you plug in a switch pro controller
16:06
sugoroku is that "vr" (well it is vr in-universe) board game, i don't know what it's called in the english version, but it is in the final game
wasn't it called Dice and Cube in Judgment and Lost Judgment?
@@kacperciesowski6198 idk, never played the english version (of any yakuza game). my native language is chinese, but i'm fluent in english, and i know japanese well enough to play the games. i play the chinese versions whenever available.
Amazing video but I can feel the pure agony of editing this
Editing took a long time but the actual struggle was staring at this 4 pixel files for hours trying to see stuff that may or may not be interesting haha
@@SnowiestAngeman as a true hero would
Damn Akiyama could've been in yakuza 7
I know :( so upsetting. There's no other files for other characters that go unused too so clearly they were going to
@@SnowiestAngeman maybe in yakuza 8 they will include him
The rumour is that they could'nt snag his Voice Actor on time for the game production so they replaced him with Dandy Nick.
Let's just say that Akiyama was left over from Y6 and they're going to save that for his own spin-off!
Please
Please RGG
The apartment in the Judgment Beta part is used in a side case. You stay the night to see if it's haunted. You also referenced Shinada.
I also know it's Judge Eyes and then like shinigami no yuijin or something but all the files and that logo just said Judge so I was curious that's all
we've been blessed
Transmitting this information works a lot better with spoken narration than written text on screen that can disappear too quickly to be read at the same time as examining the images you want us to look at.
Yakuza 7s weird dating picture is a substory where ichiban hallucinates the lady he saved 15 years ago and she became his biggest fan and they did some shit together
There's one with her (ichiban hallucinating) and one after (end of substory)
The image at 7:29 reads as "Second Cabaret Person" if you're still interested
I shall now dub the early design at 12:20 as Crackhead Yagami. This looks like if Yagami was taking meth and lost his pretty boy look, you CANNOT convince me that that's what the images look like.
This is a very well made video!
I'm glad you enjoyed it :)
4:03 yeah,it's a Shinada substory. I did that one an hour ago.
I love how judgment was finished they just dont want to give it to us
They just wanted to keep OG Yagami to themselves. Cheeky bastards
my mans out here using ff13 music
respect
Hell yeah never played XIII and probs never will but the soundtrack is sick lol
2:56 oh thats just an outline icon of ichiban posing with hands in his pockets
Someone let me know it's from the personalities screen. I never noticed because I was always too busy staring at the pretty colours of the wheel
Maybe the safe finder in kiwami 2 was there because they were already thinking in the safe mechanic from Yakuza 7
At least, that's what I think
Bruh the Tekken 7 background footage was fire. Do 3, 4, 5 and 6. Or tell us where to find the game of the DOG!!!
4:52 looks a bit like the companion app select screen tbh
It is but I pointed that out in the video
This is so well made dude! You must have spent some time on this!
Thank you I'm glad you could enjoy
Wish the Walkman for 0 was restorable and if it is I'd love to find out!
I think it was part of the JP release, not sure though. There's a video floating around of it working in 0.
@@2VE yup it seems to be JP ps3 exclusive
Yeah I wish that the future games made the feature of the Walkman an actual thing. Like, Kiryu downloading spotify on his phone in 6 or some shit now we can listen to music from previous games lmao
@@SnowiestAngeman evil simp siri was cool doe
1:55 thats from the date with the ghost girl (I think it was your mom or something if I remember correctly)
The persona music got me crying again
6:39 I instinctively started singing "jan jan, ja ja ja ja jaaaa" from out of nowhere as soon as I heard it come on.
Now I'm actually imagining how using the Walkman would be in 0.
ruclips.net/video/SZdkPoRxpRU/видео.html
Here's a video of someone using it in 0 (video's a touch choppy but it's fine besides that). It was a shame that it got cut because it mostly consisted of licenced music but the other half of it was all Yakuza original music so they honestly could've kept those and added a couple more Yakuza songs :/
