Fun fact: Poppo shops have infinite Hug Bombs. If you buy a blackjack amulet and get 5 blackjacks in a row it should make around 30k chips (around 15 platinum plates which make 3 million). This should result in an infinite spam of Hug Bombs, each giving you 300 with a limit of 3 each having the price of 10,000¥, so you would need to repeat this 33 times (900 x 33.3 = 30000 SP = 1000000¥) which gets you more Amulets which gives you more money. As long as you get your first 30k SP or first million ¥, the rest should be plain and simple farming.

You can get SP by doing all the story, side cases, and school stories, and then after that you can grind SP by getting the SP bonus skills in the skill menu that give you more SP after a battle. Once you got those skills you can get around 2k SP per battle as long as you do the battle bonuses
As someone who is playing this game right now, i can assured you this is the patched version which cost 30,000 SP, compared to unpatched version which only cost 1,000 SP If you are playing the game digital format, you are out of luck as digital format usually gets automatically updated patch. However, if you are playing this in CD format, just install and play with the unpatched version. What i did was, i just grind SP and do as many side mission as possible at the same time, the underground casino can be unlocked in around chapter 4 of the game. But there are some pre-requirement to "access" this underground casino. Then i buy tons of the black jack amulet and follow the video stated. ONLY update to the latest patch once you are confident you have enough yen to play and of course buy 8 or 9 of black jack amulet, 10-10-1 card, lucky hanafuda card, nine mahjong tile (before updating to latest patch) as backup when you need more yen.
