I have spent the last 3 days straight learning this song on the guitar and it’s so easy to accidentally start the bridge/ chorus section of the chords a few bars too early which is exactly what he did here and he was trying to recover but just said F it 🤣 SRV is a legend.
That is so weird because I always thought that he just lost his guitar pick. But now I hear that it was the lyrics were messed up but than he said we do this one again so why didn't they do it again? I'm thinking we should use AI & finally audio wise finished this great acoustic version of this song.
AI would not be able to reproduce what Steve was feeling that night, and being an artist who tended to make each song unique in every live performance, so I doubt AI could finish it the way Steve was acting
@@dave1517 Thank you so very much for your response but I believe AI has some spiritual heavenly stuff going with it so I believe that it might be possible to achieve it.
I first heard this version back in 2016 when I was learning How to play acoustic guitar, and I looked through the deepest places on internet trying to find for the tabs on this version, but I couldnt find. It's september 2024 and I still havent found it
So he did it again but its no-where to be found. His later career has been hugely ignored by his estate. No live release from the In Step tour at all. lots of bootlegs yes but nothing good. bizarre.
Where did you hear/see that he did it again? Cause from everything I've read, he never did a redo. It was probably a time thing, seeing as when he finishes Testify, the host ominously says, "Stevie's gotta go catch an airplane." But I agree 1000% that Stevie's brother Jimmie has completely dropped the ball over the years. I get it that he probably doesn't want to turn it into a cash grab like the Hendrix estate. But he's done the exact opposite and not released anything at all. Like you said, there's some damn good bootlegs out there (the SRV boxset shows us this) from the In Step era, and it's just been completely ignored. At the very least, we could've gotten re-releases of the concerts that have have already been released, preferably on Blu Ray. Especially since all of them are incomplete and missing songs!!!
@@csi2448 Just read your comment further regarding unreleased SRV. I have a hunch there is something behind Jimmie's lack of releases.....every time i hear that some new SRV is being release I groan I think....I bet its not from the instep era and its not. yet there are some blistering performances from that time. I get the impression that if he had married Janna (and he had asked her...as she has posted his proposal notes) then she would control the estate....and the whole thing would be very different.
@@Bigladderphotographer the In Step era (specifically 1990) is by far my favorite era of Stevie's. I'm not trying to promote my channel (I don't even upload anymore lol) but I have one of my personal favorite shows on it, and it's from two months before Stevie died. His playing and singing was never better! I agree that something is behind Jimmie not releasing things. I think it's been damn near ten years since we've gotten a release! And I also agree that if Janna were in control, things would be a lot different. Cause you can tell there was some animosity between Jimmie and her after Stevie died. I just hope that whatever is out there that Jimmie refuses to release, sees the light of day one day and isn't lost forever. Cause there's quite a bit of stuff that's out there that we've never seen!
When something aborted sounds better than any version of this song. What an amazing guitarist.
We will never know. Would’ve been the best version by far.
And there was no one capable of creating a tab/lesson of this version specifically
Kindest man to ever hold a guitar.
“Well I’ve blown it” - Love the guy.

Still sounded good to me
Thanks for posting this

Sounded like he goofed up the lyrics. He said he blew it and the playing seemed right. Wish we could have seen the redo but alas no.
And is there a redo performance done - and more so - a copy of the redo in existance anywhere??? … pleeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeease!
😢
🙏🏻
I don't think there is. But if you find it pls lemme know😂
What did he say??? Why did he stop? That was amazing..what little i saw😞
The lyrics go “fly on fly home” and then he says something like “then I plummet”
