Hey again MisterP. Appreciate your notes, but the origin of the text is not the issue, it's how Bruckner himself pronounced the text. Listen to any German choir singing pieces like this. That's the way they do it!! It's part of the composer's sound world to re-create how HE heard the text, so whether that is "correct" or not from your, or my, perspective is not the issue. This is how it should be sung! If we were to do the plainchant only that would be different, but we are not!
