The idea of independence for African countries did not start with Lumumba. The idea of SELF-DETERMINATION OF PEOPLES germinated at the BANDUNG conference under the impetus of the President of Indonesia in 1955. Moreover, many African countries did not wait for Lumumba to have their independence.

As a Belgian I'm ashamed of what my country did, for me Lumumba is a huge rollmodel, admire him more than every king Belgium had and ever will have. Lumumba was a new breed of African leader that was unwilling to kowtow to the western colonial powers, the United States included. They wanted puppets that would continue the status quo under the guise of Independence. Lumumba wanted his people to be truly free from Belgian rule. He and Malcolm X shared a depth of similarities with one another in erudition, oratorical abilities, and courageousness. Both were unwilling to back down in the face of tyranny, which costed them their lives. But their legacy can be seen in the thousands of young black and brown people that no longer are willing to accept brutality by always tuning the other cheek. Because as brother Lumumba always knew and Brother Malcolm always knew all lives matter, but it seems as if Black people especially but all people of color collectively are the only ones that have to cogently express that fact and fight for the acknowledgment of that fact on a daily basis.
The idea of independence for African countries did not start with Lumumba. The idea of SELF-DETERMINATION OF PEOPLES germinated at the BANDUNG conference under the impetus of the President of Indonesia in 1955. Moreover, many African countries did not wait for Lumumba to have their independence.
You have to tell the truth to the children: Lumumba was not the hero you want people to believe.
If it were enough to die to be a great man, there would be many great men in the Congo.
Regarding the Congolese Genocide:
1) The Belgians perpetrated by their genocide in a colonized Congo.
2) The partisans of Lumumba, MULELE, GIZENGA, GBENYE and consort perpetrated their genocide in an independent Congo, between 1963 and 1964. They are Congolese who killed other Congolese.
The killings took place especially in the district of HAUT UELE because in 1960, this district voted primarily for the PNP party and not for the MNC.

this is what happens to any African leader that wants to see Africa progress, my hope is to see a time that African countries will provide Aides to western countries, the time westerners will flow into Africa seeking for a better life, the time were African countries will gib=ve out loans.
