When you place a unit like you did with the fangs at 5:00 you can actually zoom in and see which direction each individual unit in the group is planning to go.
Sometimes you can get a sweet spot where only ~1-4 of them trigger the missile while the rest of the unit gets aggroed on something else on the other side.
