Can you explain the first pfa

Gotcha! The initial P.F.A will be taken the first week and it’s really only testing you to see where you are at physically. There won’t be a 1.5 mile run. It’ll be a pacer you will basically run back and forth from cone to cone every time the beeper sounds. I believe you have to run back and forth 21 times in order to pass it. If not I believe you get 3 more tries, but it’s super easy that shouldn’t be a problem for you. You will also do pushups and a plank. But I would just advise you to take the 1.5 mile a little bit more seriously, you will run that most likely on the week 4(RDC Assessment), and week 6 or 7(Final P.F.A). You only get two chances to pass that run and if you failed you’ll he held back two weeks.

@@timothypayton6090 thank u so fucking much bro😭ive been in dep for like 2 years now because of weight issues. ONLY weight issues. I went to meps, i swore in, i even had my ship date. But so much shit been happening at home i couldnt focus on leaving. But now everything has calmed down and its time for me to contact my recruiter again. Ive been in DEP for so long ik so much shit about the navy lol. Im not worried about the education or mental part of boot camp. Im only worried about the run and the swim. I have time tho. I might have to retake the asvab if i dont ship before November but im not worried. I just need not pass that 1.5 mile lol

@@timothypayton6090 Okay, thanks. I ship/fly out for recruit training on July 21st. Did you have anyone in your division that was on the older side? Like in their 30s or over the age of 35?

@@kaseywoody4951 Yeah. We had a couple of people that were in their 30s. We actually had a guy who turned 40 in boot camp, who was very athletic. They won’t treat you any differently than anyone while you’re in. They might ask you why’d you join so late, but other than that you will be going through the same boot camp and experiencing everything as if you were joining out of high school.

@@timothypayton6090 okay thanks. Trust me, if I could have joined when I was 18 I would have. But the Navy said no. Same response when I was 20, 22, 24/25, and again at 30. Now the Army said yes but I didn't want to join the Army. Just the Navy. To be honest, they would have probably told me no again if recruiting hadn't plummeted. But as they say, when one door closes another one opens. I can't go back to when I was 18. But I can take full advantage of the opportunity that is currently in front of me.
