Jeff, I am seriously considering purchasing this new limited Prius. I obviously will need to test drive one first. A HUGE factor for me will be if Toyota will offer removable cross bars for the limited trim with this glass roof. They were offered on the previous Prius model however I do not see them available for the new model on Toyota's site. Can you please confirm if the cross bars will be available for the new Prius? Thanks and Merry Christmas!
I wished they made xSe's. Make 'em sportier than luxurious. XLE/LIMITED, not sure if FWD or AWD, good point u brought up sits 6". I didnt get AWD on my 2019 because they sit so low. I'd be plowing the road with my underside or gettn stuck anyway.
LE for me, has all safety connect features, has all safety features also other than pano camera, has smoother quieter ride with normal size alloy wheels with covers that will be cheaper to replace, substantially higher MPG, same engine so no loss of performance, only model to have spare tire and for some reason it also boasts 4 more cubic feet of rear cargo space and more head room with no glass roof. No smart key, but I have never had that so does not change my daily routine I am used to in that area. Plus $10 grand less price, I am all in on LE.
I'd love to choose features. Smart key is great, never have to worry about keys except for having it in your pocket. Smaller wheels. Would probably get the all wheel drive or prime. Sunroof is difficult as I'd like it, but not having it gives more room and less weight up top. It'll be a while before I consider it anyway. Costs 10x more at least than my used one xD
1:19 is that premium package "advance park" the feature that turns the steering wheel for us? or is that something else? at 2:11 why does the light keep blinking like that?
🎄Merry Christmas, Jeff!🎄 U talked me into my 2019 Prius Limited but u can't on Gen 5 Prius. Not because I don't like it, I'm too old, on fixed income now, my car is paid off, & I have too much invested in it. Mine is ceramic coated, undercoated, partial PPF'd, & LED'd all interior, back up, rear turn signal bulbs. But if I could, I get this year's! It's gorgeous! I will just have to envy/drool. And dont get me wrong, I ❤ my Limited!! 🎅🇺🇸
I think it looks very stylish. I would not want black because so hard to keep clean. What other colors will they offer? Jeff can you do a video or even a clip about the Toyota Mirai? I have seen those here in So Cal a few times and I don't even know what a fuel cell car IS. Educate me, Toyota Professor! I have a 23 Rav4 hybrid that I just picked up 2 weeks ago and I am in looove. I don't think I'll ever go back to a sedan. :)
9:32 if you push the seat forward and take off the headrest and lean the seat back, does it create an extra long almost flat cargo space? Also I wonder if you can squeeze a single bed in this car like the older ones. I'm guessing not
Overall the vehicle is longer and wider so you probably will be able to fit a sleeping pad there, just it's two inches shorter height so you don't have as much wiggle room there.
Seriously considering - - this one didn't have the HUD which I thought was standard on the Limited. Also, is JBL still the stereo system of choice for Toyota? Someone let me know - - I've extended my lease on my fuel cell (Honda) and this is a strong contender as a replacement.
No HUD no more unfortunately ! Toyotas seems to think that tiny "7 inch" screen can replace it.... Very annoying decision ! The exterior is great but they should have kept the Prius known dash layout and improved it !
@@cf6965 Agreed about the driver display screen being much smaller is weird, that huge central screen on the previous Priuses was easily a safety feature in itself. Also even in normal cars with the steering wheel based screen they're usually around 10", it's like tunnel vision to look further away and see a 7" screen. Also not to mention the odd looking way it goes between the steering column to the display. The obvious reason is they put the console screen up center like they do on most cars nowadays and you can't physically center both as they would overlap. A way to mitigate that would being able to use split screen on it and give the driver information on the left half while the car is in motion, but it doesn't appear the software can handle that at this point. Hopefully they can do that in a future software update or offer bigger driver displays in a yearly update, but all together it's just a loss from previous Prii as it's still safer than a normal display beneath the steering wheel.
Great video, the front license plate mount I think ruins the front end, also wish you would of shown the 360 camera views, also the high display on driver side will it be blocked by the steering wheel, and will we be able to get this car in Ohio, never could get our hands on the RAV Prime
Jeff, does a PHEV operate the same as a HEV when it comes to city driving? Or does a PHEV only give you the option of battery or gas.. I want to know if the PHEV helps you off red lights like the HEV does.
Pls someone tell me if this is a compatible car for a family of three(i have a toddler) is enough the cargo space?! Or should i look to buy another car?’ I love this and it will be my first car
I bought my 2021 Prius Prime Limited for $29,000 after tax rebates and get an average of 122 mpg. I can see that this is faster and sleeker but it seems like a step backwards.
sleeker = remove practicality and storage to make it look like every other car on the market, haha I got a 2015 Prius brand new under 20k with 0% interest loan.

It's more of a Mustang than the Mach E... simply because it's not an SUV, it's a decent looking car, I'll never buy one of these Priuses, but that's a state-of-the-art Frontline EV automobile from Toyota..
Toyota does not expect the new Prius to be a successful .I have read they think it will be a flop. They do not expect high sales numbers as well the main reason is there are so many other vehicles to choose from in that category. It also has a lot of shortcomings compared to other offerings in the same category.

This is supposed to be a hybrid and yet you only can see your battery status when you switch to the energy monitor screen ? The thing I don't like about this new Prius is that you can't display multiple information at the same time as you could in gen. 4 ! Wow, anybody can get their face on RUclips! Is this guy for real? How about sticking to reviewing without all the poor dramatics. Prius looks like a winner. To bad their designers/engineers could not figure in a rear wiper. Just hope the digital mirror option will function well when raining. And for the price there should be a power passenger seat. I have owned less expensive cars that had power passenger seat. There is a lot of hype about the 2023 Prius but I doubt one can be bought in the mid west US until well into summer, if even then.
