That bag looks to be a medium Saddle Pouch (style number 9590). The format of the creed number will tell you which decade it was made in. I have a few old catalogs and advertisements, and the first appearance of the bag I've seen was from 1982. I'm a ride or die vintage Coach fan because the leather is truly wonderful. It's thick, durable, and it can be restored. I actually love the weight of the bags! Some will say that Coach went downhill after 2000, and after all the restoration jobs I've done I do agree with that. There was a drop in quality, but the leather is still super durable and aged well. Avoid anything made after 2010. Quality standards were stomped out, and Coach continues to sneeze out plastic bags with giant price tags.
If I remember right, the qualifications for "genuine leather" were changed by the FTC in the mid-90s, and it now means nothing because drop splits qualify (previously it wasn't), PVC mixed with leather shavings qualify, whatever Coach can Frankenstein together qualifies. It literally means nothing in terms of quality these days, and modern Coach is taking advantage of that.
On more thing and I'll end my wall of text: Tapestry Inc. owns Coach, Kate Spade, and Sturat Weitzman. I don't know the fate of SW, but those Kate Spade bags that wear out in less than a year? They're doing the same thing with Coach. One is not better in quality than the other, because it's the same parent company. /walloftext

Had a Coach wallet disintegrated within a year, super disappointed with the material and its not even made from real leather. Really enjoyed all these videos talking about leathers. Nothing but good things to say about your wallets, absolutely pleased with it.

Thanks, John! I think the leather coach used to use was very, very nice.

Yeah new coach is awful. You need to buy it from 2000 and before. Preferably from late 90s and before.

I have a dressy small bag made out of black chromexcel, from what I understand black CXL is pretty “locked” compared to other colors so the color shouldn’t migrate that much unto my clothes, do you think this is true?

The color fastness on the black CXL does seem to be better than other CXL colors. You can test this by rubbing a white cloth or paper towel over the leather to see how much color comes off. The big thing with CXL is the oil content. Because there is so much oil in the leather it tends to discolor light colored clothing just from the oil/wax/grease

This bag is made of Coach’s famous glove-tanned leather, all of their older bags was made of this exceptional leather. It wears like iron and is almost indestructible!

Horween shell cordovan always has an aniline finish. If you want to see a full pigment finish on a shell I did a shell cordovan comparison video that had shell from five different tanneries: ruclips.net/video/UGdwt3Wjrz8/видео.html

I have a Coach briefcase from the 80s. Seems like nice leather. It has an ink stain from a pen leaking on the inside bottom of the briefcase. Any suggestions for getting ink out of leather? Thanks.

I would suggest trying a product called Saphir renomat. I have some available if you can't find it
