Although this episode has many shockers, the one that hit me the most was Katharina's tragic end. A tired mother looking for her son only to be killed by her own mother. And on top of that, she ends up being the urban legend Magnus and Bartosz were talking about 2x06 "The Lady in the Lake". Heartbreaking to realize that Magnus was talking about his mom without even knowing.
interesting thing about that Katharina and Helene scene, when Kat called her mom Helene thought it was the child she aborted back in 1954 (scene with Hannah in previous ep) sent from hell to haunt her (she mentioned how her mom told her that aborted babies are sent to hell). And during the fight Kat takes pendant off her mom's neck and its left in the sand to be found years later by Jonas and given to Martha. Full circle. Just wow.
Yeah, those details show how thoroughly this show was planned. And Katharina is actually the woman that drowned in the lake that Bartosz talked about in episode 2x06.
Another tidbit about this: when Helene beats young Katharina for being a "slut", she tells her "You're not worthy of the name you were given!" The name she was given was of course that of this nice lady she met at her first abortion and who gave her the St.Christopher pendant: Hannah, who went by Katharina's name.
this episode hurt me i didn’t expect the Jonas scene at the end at alllll. and with the necklace i don’t know the full history but in season 2x6 (flashback to before the show started) Jonas and martha found the necklace at the exact same spot that katerina left it after dying in the past. so pretty much the necklace stays there all the way until 2019 where they find it. it’s crazy how much it’s travelled.
Yes!! And in general many of the other characters have one, know someone who has one and or speaks about it. It's the travellers thing. You would think it would be the societies logo actually. With as much as they talk about it and show it in the show.
I actually thought at the beginning of the season when everything was sort of mirrored that Jonas might die in Martha's arms just like Martha did in his in the other world. But then I thought that it's not possible because older Jonas still exists and so I was still shocked by this scene.
Something that I realized which I haven't seen in the comments is that Jonas being killed by Eva is the exact same that happened in the initial universe when Adam kills Martha, just in an "alternative" way. Everything is just a huge irony.

You are confusing Katarina with Charlotte. Katarina is the one that was killed by her mother this episode. Katarina is also the wife of Ulrich and mother of his children. Charlotte is Peter's wife the cop. Charlotte is also the daughter of Noah and her own youngest daughter Elizabeth who is the one who just killed the guy that killed her dad Peter.

Seemed like the plan was for Jonas to go to the other world the whole time. Ideally, where was Jonas supposed to go after that? Also, if an alternate reality version of people can be created by changing the plan, then would all of this been avoided if Jonas in fact did prevent his father from hanging himself? Doesn’t that make a new version of Michael, and Mikkel?
Mt Zaba as for the first thing, Adam killed Martha because he wanted Jonas to become Adam. All the pieces had to be in the proper place. There was no plan for Jonas to go to the other world, at least not in Adam’s head. I don’t exactly understand what you mean by where was Jonas supposed to go after that. To the second thing, they state that an alternate reality can only be created during the apocalypse, when time stands still for a bit. This is why the only time alternate realities are created is right when the apocalypse happens. It would be impossible for Jonas to prevent his dad from killing himself, as time isn’t standing still at that point. Also, even if Jonas could prevent his father from killing himself, it wouldn’t prevent anything. As the two realities exist side by side. Think about it, when Martha grabbed Jonas, it didn’t prevent anything. Just created a new possible outcome.

Guys didn’t anyone notice that Traveler second world Martha had the small cut under her left eye initially and not under the right eye as the second world Martha & the Martha that kills Jonas (where she now has the second big scar). The big Scar is consistent with her older versions but not with Traveler Martha who took Jonas to the second world. I noticed the same thing with the Creepy Trio, their Lip Scar is usually on their left side/lip but that changed in some of episode 4 scenes!!! I hate to think those 2 things are show mistakes, if not, then there is something waaay bigger happening. (Ppl who watched the whole season 3 please NO Spoilers here).
No way those are mistakes. That would be like drawing Harry Potter's scar wrong in a movie. The attention to detail in Dark is 100%, so this is definitely a clue for us, but we don't know what it means yet.

I think this is why adult Jonas asked Martha if he went to her world why doesn't he remember it? Because he died and idk but it's easier to think of them as the 3 cycles, they always existed just like the cycles, jonas died and adult jonas becomes adam

Martha didnt have the scar when she traveled to save jonas, mor when she arrived at 1888. She got it after knowing the truth.
