- 808 hoops presents: nba farewell moments. In light of Vince Carter retirement I figured we should compile some of the great farewell games and moments in recent memory in the NBA. Also, Kobe Bryant farewell, who is my favorite NBA player of all time and his tragic passing is still hurting to this day :( RIP MAMBA. Dirk turnaround was so nasty even after his prime that shit was just art man im glad I got to experience Wade, Kobe,Vince, and Dirk definitely the highlight of my childhood
I was born in 2002 but I was lucky enough to see them still play when they were around there prime. Even luckier to witness the greatness of Bron, KD, Steph, Kawhi, Russ and CP3 to name a few from my generation.

Watching Kobe last game was legendary, not to know what was to come afterwards.. just seeing the pure joy is his face when he retired... Glad the Lakers won the chip that year even though it didn't ease the pain .. that's just what the world needed through those times

Doc Rivers stopping the game to acknowledge Dirk because they didn't plan anything for him at the arena is pretty legendary.
Bittersweet seeing all the superstars from when I was in high school hang em up (Kobe, Dirk, Timmy, KG, Pierce, Ray Allen, Kidd, Artest, Peja, C Webb, Nash, VC, TMAC, Francis and so on)

For the legendary dirk and vince carter, oh my still remembered there moves no one can forget them atleast before there retirement the are both got a ring when vince and dirk team up and do a great job dirk as score dealer and vince do the buzzer beater he'll yeah surely they miss playing on the tournament, but some great players haven't a ring like Tmac, iverson, yao and others but still recognize them as one of the great players at the time they played
The most memorable is Kobe's. I remember rushing home that night to watch it!

Chris Bosh and Dirk Nowitzki were my 2 idols growing up. I still have my Bosh jersey from like 2007. I was 4 or 5 when I got it and now I have to wear the one my sister got for it to remotely fit XD. Being half Canadian and Half German, being from the Toronto area to boot, Dirk and Bosh were the guys who's moves I'd try to emulate in the backyard after watching their games. Dirk deserved the send-off he got, if not a better one.
