I came across this beautiful but haunting song quite by chance last night when net surfing. It is very descriptive of a shameful time in England's not so distant past that we were never taught about in school, nor was it ever talked about in 'polite' company. Suffice to say I have tears running down my cheeks not only for the song and it's subject, but also for further confirmation that my country's history has not been as great as we wer etaught in school.
We had the same reaction to the music - haunting - when we first heard it, which is why we decided to tell the story in song and in pictures in our own way. Thank you for listening.
been looking for a version of this arrangement for literal YEARS! this is beautiful. closest ive been able to find to what i sang in high school, but this is definitely more masterfully done. gooseflesh!!
Thank you - We also have a live version of “Annie Laurie” that was recorded before the pandemic. You might enjoy this as well. Please visit our channel.
Well done to the English for singing this beautiful rendition. Not yer fault that ye were not taught Irish history, tho we had to learn English history in Irish schools for the past 800 years.
Thanks for listening. The recording was made by an American choir (with one Scottish singer who you hear as the soloist in the second verse). But that famine gave rise to a great wave of immigration to the USA, which has been. To our great benefit for more than 100 years.
There were definitely some artistic liberties taken with the pictures. This video was made during the pandemic, so we used what we could get through stock photos. Would love to have been able to photograph on scene. Nevertheless, very glad you enjoyed the music.
Sent shivers through me 💚💚💚 My daughter descended from the Gannons of Galway 💚💚💚

Different but very enjoyable.
Thanks for listening. With 900 versions on RUclips, we wanted to do something a little different but still honor the music. Hope we got it right.

The picture of the corn is not correct. It would not have been maize, but probably wheat.
The singing is very good!
