Have you ever considered getting a portable blender? If so, what would be your main use for it? If you liked this, you might like to see the review for the original Ninja Blast! ruclips.net/video/s9RxaEutTqw/видео.html
Yeah, now you're stuck with a power adapter with a specific plug and a specific voltage... with the USB C port.. you could use any USB C cord to charge it up.
True.. If they had included the wall adapter block with the USB-C cable, it would have been a moot point for me. As far as the voltage goes, the blast is still voltage limited, so regarless of how much power the the USB wall adapter puts out it still takes 3 hours to charge from a dead battery. I suppose the USB would still be better regardless if you wanted to charge it in the car though, since most new cars have those adapters in them these days. In any case, good points!
Very true... I'm surprised they didn't design the original blast to take advantage of that... Must have been a cost thing or something. The motor does overheat pretty easily though so that could have some kind of connection. In any case, them going away from the USB-c design and not just including a USBc cable with an adapted connected to it, might be more than just a simple design decision. No reason for that thing to be overheated for as long as that was. Surprised the heck outta me. Maybe it needs better ventilation.
@@JoesPhenomenal I don't think it has to do with the connection.. it uses a capacitor to give it the extra 'oomph' to get the motor started and chew through hard bits.. hence why it need a second or two before you can use it... the 'overheating motor' is probably a generic term to keep the internals cool enough to prevent a thermal runaway of the batteries cause by the battery usage and the proximity of the warm, if not hot motor... and because it's all water tight encased... the heat has a difficult way of dissipating.
The dedicated charger is a good idea. I had a blend jet that caught on fire while charging. If you do not use the appropriate charging block with these small blenders, it can damage the device or start a fire.
@@dhkatz_ this issue is many times they don't give you the charging cord/or wall plug with usb blenders so if you're using one that's a lower caliber it can short out the item. The same thing can happen with your cell phone if you're using charging cables/wall plugs that are lower quality.
Blender is awesome but you can't purchase spare parts if something breaks or is damaged. I contacted Ninja about this because I wanted another cup and they told me to buy another whole unit. Also, in order to properly clean it, you have to remove the silicone seal on the lid. So if ANY part of the blender gets misplaced, lost, or damaged - you have to buy an entirely new one. CRAZY to me.
That's dumb if you ask me.. No reason they can't sell replacement vessels. That's gonna hurt their sales on that I think... Thanks for mentioning that. Might be good info for people to have ahead of time.
I got a BlendJet 2 when it first launched, but now it's having performance issues. I'm considering upgrading or switching to a different model or brand. My only wish is that manufacturers would design one that can be used while plugged into the wall-ideally with passthrough technology that allows it to charge the battery and be used at the same time.
@@Mangolite the blast and blast max will both work while plugged in, however they use more power than the charging provides, so even plugged in they will drain the battery if you're blending a bunch of smoothies at once.
It definitely can be.... I just wish that they would hsvr included a USB to wall plug adapter in the box. In that case, the whole point would have been moot.
It sucks that this thing can't be used while charging if it's died recently. Mine died and I've been charging it for like half an hour. Can't even get a quick blend from the charge to finish off a smoothie.
Same.... That happened to me, and I had to just wait for about 2 hours. That's one of the big down sides to this. Was really hoping that they'd be able to get the charging module someplace where it could draw directly from the wall when plugged in.
I prefer this one since I don’t have to put the motor in the fridge and on my ninja blast with usb c not sure if anybody ran into this problem but after months of use it stopped charging you’d have to unplug and replug multiple times before I finally charged luckily I had the Best Buy warranty and upgraded to this
To be honest, I am thinking about either a regular blender or any good blender with USB C. Because my main issue is that I only want to charge my gadgets with USB C, I don't have enough sockets to work with. So if I were to choose between a personal blender which needs a socket and a regular blender (which can has high capacity and capabilities), it is obvious which one I would go for. Blast Max obviously would be better than Blast because now its competition is no longer USB-charged blenders, but rather those which need sockets. So is Blast Max good for blenders which need sockets? Absolutely not 😂 Edit:Just noticed, in the video, about 3:30 in, it was stated as an improvement to change USB C charging to proprietory charging... I would like to say something, the point of a portable blender is not only about how it can be used anywhere, but also how it can be charged anywhere.
@@John-el5sv I agree with you about the charge anywhere aspect.... But charging is disappointingly slow on those.... About 2.5 hours to charge, and it doesn't help to use it plugged in since it doesn't supply enough power through the charging for that... Worked the same for the regular plug in and the USBC as well. Maybe they'll be able to do something about that aspect in the future. Great point on the USB though. 👍
@JoesPhenomenal Thanks for your reply! Hmm for me I think since it's a cordless home appliance 2.5 hours is considered fast. I've seen another portable blender that requires 4-6 hours of charging for around 15 cycles as well, and cordless vacuums usually take hours (iirc around 4-6) to charge for minutes (iirc 20 mins or so) of use

@dinodinosaur2930 hmm.... Will hsvr to investigate that... In the video, I was happy about the power adapter, but it wasn't because of it not being USB-C, I just wanted them to include a little adapter with it, in case it's needed. Didn't really see why they would change that whole charging port part out. There's gotta be something else going on there.
@thomas4909 good point... But Ninja including an adapter on it would have been nice... Still a nice blender and an upgrade to the old blast though (which was pretty good too)
@JoesPhenomenal yeah forsure, i do wish I saw your video sooner just picked up the last model the other day. I do like how the cup can be taken off more conveniently, on the max for portability.
Lol! I know! The additional containers should be available through Ninja on they're website in the parts section I would imagine. Those might be a little more costly on the max since the blade assembly it build into it.
So stupid they took away the USB-C charging! USB-C allows charging in the car when traveling or campin and being able to simply carry one charger for both the blender and my phone. Now it's a secondary bulky charging block to carry around that's only good for the blender needs and actual wall outlet and doesnt even allow using the blender while plugged in because it's too weak. Wtf is the point of that?
They could have left it usb and just included an adapter brick. I suspect that had some sort of problem with the usb module they were using. I heard a lot of people claiming it wouldn't charge anymore after a while on the old ones. That fact that it can't supply enough power to just run plugged it was a pretty big disappointment to me, too.
Nah, usb was much better. Now you'll need to buy a specific charger should you lose or damage it. Everyone has USB, and they're cheap and easy to find.
so like any battery only operated product eventually the battery wears down and not being able to use this plugged in (realistically it doesn't work well that way) it's a poor product design by ninja its only as good as the battery life
As soon as I saw the charging cable is no longer USB C -> that's a 100% NO for me... Sorry Ninja :( I can use the old one while traveling ANYWHERE around the world, without the need to deal with voltage differences and adaptors. Going back to the old model.
