Hi Kane, thanks for the video. I'm planning on picking up the Vela for my girlfriend and I but am unsure about whether to get the 0C or -6C. I'm intending to primarily use it for summer (and a bit of shoulder season) all around Canada. The 20F (-6C) EE Accomplice (Long) has a fill weight of 850g of 850 FP down, the -6C Thermarest Vela has a fill weight of 890g of 650 FP down. This makes me think the comfort rating for the -6C Vela is more like +5 or +10. I don't want something that would be overkill or leave us sweltering. I'd appreciate any thoughts!
Hi Andrew, the tent is directly from MSR. I thought the design looked like it would solve the biggest problem I have with my marmot tent (which is a fantastic tent) and they had one I could try out. I don’t know if they are widely available yet.
From the specs it looks like that sheet only would work on a pad that is 77" long, and the 3d is 80 inches. I only want the single sheet, but it looks like it would work based on your video?
Ever seen what a mountain bike costs? Or a bass boat? Set of golf clubs? Climbing rope? I spend 30 + nights a years sleeping outside… good gear lasts years. I’ve had a thermarest dreamtime mattress for 12 years. It was expensive but don’t regret that purchase for a second. Couple of hundred nights on it!
@@KaneDoesOutdoors you got that right when it comes to camping I always say be willing to spend some bucks or stay home, theres nothing worse than getting out to the woods you enjoy and have some cheap gear fail you.
5 star luxury! I'm with you on getting a good nights sleep is a high priority, so whatever it takes is the only way to go
It doesn’t hurt if you’re spouse appreciates it as well!
What tent is that ?
The XXL pad is 80 inches yet the coupling sheet is only 77. Does this mean it compresses the pads a few inches in length?

is the foot "room", "pocket", of the quilt big enough to fit over the sleeping pads?
Your feet are designed to go in the foot pocket, not the sleeping pads. If you tried it you’d see that that’s what makes most sense and works best.
Are you featuring the XXL version or the Large? Not sure if the Coupler fits two XXL mattresses. Would highly appreciate your response.
It's the 30" Synergy Luxe Coupler.
From what I heard the coupler only fits two Large mondoking 3d and but not two XXL mondokings. I am guessing you have the large mondokings
@josearreola9729 I have the XXL and the 30” coupler sheet. They fit perfectly.
My wife is a side sleeper, and I am considering a 15cm exped, but the price is hard to swallow. Any side sleepers in your family? Thanks!
I do - no zombie shoulder issues!
@@KaneDoesOutdoors great to know!
$2000 worth of stuff to sleep 😅
