I didn't mention it until late into the video but the empire size cost reduction lets me fly through techs and traditions, as we barely get any addition cost due to it!
With this challenge it could be decent to switch into catalytic processing after you get mega engineering in order to replace all of your miners with farmers on one of the repaired ringworld segments.
Absolutely I want to see how far you go! These challenges are always so fun to watch! (Probably not for you to play though)
1-System Shattered-Ring Civ.... That was my first dozen playthroughs.
My logic was simple: learn how to run one system before I try to learn how to run a sprawling empire.
Last night I played my first multi-system game. And survived until the scripted end year.
I didn't "win" 1st place, but was in the top 10 for the galaxy (top 30% -ish).
I'm still learning how to play. About half way through the game last night I found the "reinforce fleet" button. And it wasn't until the end of the game I figured out how to make defense platforms....
Nice video! I have never seen a tall build done this way before, and it was certainly interesting to see it!
I did a very different build with the new civic: Gaia World start, Ascensionists, and fanatical spiritualist. I actually expanded much more than I originally intended because I got access to a non-gaia species through an event. Despite this, I managed to keep my empire size at around 300 despite having over a dozen planets by getting every possible source of empire size reduction and spamming planet ascension. Planet ascension seems to be an absolute necessity for tall builds: the amount of free resources you can generate with it is ridiculous, and the additional empire size reduction helps counteract pop growth.
Just started watching, and I've already had a good laugh at that exchange between Mandalore the Ultimate and Revan.
I'd like to see you try this challenge with multiple different origins / builds just to see which one you find works the best. You don't even need to be locked into Barbaric Despoilers, since you can just take the Ascension Perk first
Best origin for this tbh is knights u make ur home world a slave resource work and the hab a tech and alloy work

If you used a different war goal you wouldnt get peace locked so quick. Like, even if you pick Vassalize, if you just raid you won't win before they force statis quo, so you get more pops.
The One system challenge is really fun with Gigastructural Engineering

How rare is it to get dyson sphere close to you? I've only gotten it once and it was a crazy game.

I once had a Neighbour spawn in with a Size 30 Gaia World (Seed of Life) and one Jump next to him was a Dyson Sphere. Easiest War Declaration i ever did in this Game.
@@fuchsmichael93 I chose a crisis route. In the endgame I had the craziest economy. Got to final level of aetherophasic engine(or whatever it's called), But needed thousands more dark matter, which I'd get in 20 years or so. By that time, 1 month was 1 minute so I quit.

A mercenary enclave would have been nice for the extra $$$ kickback they provide (you don't have to hire them). ...but I don't think you can put a merc enclave on the shattered ring system., so you'd have to pick a different origin. ...Ocean Paradise, maybe???.

I did a one planet challenge before and it was pretty fun
I've played this exact build with Void Dwellers but with 3 systems ( for 3 habitats ) and it worked extremely well.
One of the key is to get catalytic processing as your third civic with livestocks, and switch into a tech habitat + a forge habitat + an energy habitat as your setup. Also, you should make the Merc Enclave in the midgame, just because of the free ressources it gives you from time to time. It helps a LOT.

What about combining it with a Machine Empire that gets Generator Districts on Rings? Trade seems woefully inefficient for Energy purposes here.
One thing that's probably important too is to ascend the Alloy-rings in order to save on the upkeep. It might even be possible to mix one segment 2/3 Alloys, 1/3 Farmers and have ti pay for itself.
An issue might be pops, especially when the Rings are being segmented - not sure if Mechromancy is doing the trick here.

Why are the nuclear missiles able to be put in regular weapon slots? Did I miss an update coverage, or are you using a mod?
They changed the combat a fair few patches ago!
@@Ep3o Thank you. I play on Console, but always try to keep up with the update details for when it eventually gets released for me. I just missed that one.
LOL The Ruin Dyson Sphere reminds me of my luck. EVERY SINGLE TIME I play Despoilers I get Gestalt empires next to me so I can't make any use of it. I even tried doing guaranteed spawn of races I created and limiting number of AI in galaxy to that number and it's still spawning some of the default AI races which don't have toggle off option. Don't know if they ever fixed that as last time I tried Despoilers was probably DLC after megacorp.
The game's RNG does seem to like to screw with us at times.

yes and no. half of the civic is a strong council position. you dont get that as machine or hive.

Couldnt ou also build one habitat around the extra planet ring world starts usually have? if my memory serves correctly. Wouldnt be revolutionary but its a little improvement
you dont need barbaric despoilers btw. there is an admiral trait to steal pops. something like beacon of liberty is insane for even less empire size from pops
ahh, so endless space 2 umbral choir but without any mechanical leverage of the field, interesting.
Still watching, but I would love to see a video soon done on console.. Anything like that on the calender? Can't find any decent channels that does for Xbox or PlayStation.

I think it's because another corvette popped in mid-fight and the post-battle report is based on the numbers before the combat.
